Chapter 18 ~ Melody + Nathan = Over?

Start from the beginning

 Melody's Perspective

I watched the guards, wondering how I would be able to get passed them. I couldn't exactly just walk right through.

I analyzed the building and decided I would have to make a seen. A dramatic one at that.

I took my knife from my bag and gave myself the strength to put it against my forearm and press a deep cut across. As the bacteria in the air hit it, it started to sting, but I had to leave it. I then pressed the knife against my temple. Blood flowed down my cheek.

It was the best I could do.

I went out of hiding and walked a little towards the guards calling out, "I need help!"

They immediately rushed towards me in worry. I didn't know how I was going to be able to do this.

I dropped down to the ground like I was tired and waited until they were kneeling down besides me asking me what had happened.

Do they have families?

"Miss what happened?" One asked.

I won't kill them.

"I'm sorry," I said as I made myself cry.

"Miss?" The other asked.

Before they knew what would hit them, I took a rock that was near me and bashed it against their heads and watched them collapsed.

How will I live this down? I had never hurt a person before in my life only to those who were trying to kill me, but these people were innocent.

I wiped my blood from my arm and forehead so I wouldn't bleed everywhere. it stung but I dealt with it.

I took the rock I hit them with and stopped within five feet from the door and threw the rock at the camera so it would be knocked out. it worked.

I went to the key pad on the side of the door and hooked up the device Jerry gave me and hacked the system. I waited for the click and then I was in.

I knew there would be a camera when I opened the door so I placed Nathan's hat on top of my head and tucked in my long blonde hair. As I opened the door I threw the rock where I figured the camera might be and smiled to myself when I heard the crack and saw it fall to the ground.

My footsteps were light as I padded across the floor, taking out other security cameras. When I heard footsteps I flattened myself against the wall and waited for the footsteps to fade away. When it did I hurried through another hallway.

After a lot of dead ends I found something rather promising. There was a door with security cameras and four guards in front of it. I didn't know how I was going to be able to get through and I was close to calling Jerry for back up when an idea hit me.

Right across from me was a fire alarm. It would lead them away, but first I would have to go through a couple of obstacles. After the alarm sounded there would be a lot of water for one and the guards would be angry, looking for who did it. But would hopefully would think it is a real emergency. The second thing was they were no doubt going to find me. I need somewhere to hide.

Bingo.

There was a door. A hopefully empty and unlocked door. I didn't have time to think because I heard footsteps coming towards me. I quickly pulled the fire alarm. Then the alarm came on and water soaked me from head to toe. I ran through the unlocked door and then pressed my ear against the door.

I heard people yelling orders and feet scrambling. I prayed to myself that the guards would have left their post. I was already surprised that no one came to investigate all the broken cameras.

When the voices all died down and opened the door. It was quiet except for the water continuing to poor down. And the guards were gone.

This is to easy I thought t myself but quickly shook the thought away. I need to do this.

I disabled the cameras even though they probably didn't work and then I busted into the room.

I saw them.

Nathan's Perspective

She's in.

"I don't feel right about this," Siva said. "What if she gets hurt."

"Does it matter?" I asked and cleared my throat when I heard it crack. There were cameras in the room with the diamonds so I saw her enter, wearing my hat. She took something from me. I don't know if she took it to remember me by or just a way to disguise herself. I guess I will never know.

"Mate," Jay said. I knew what he was going to say. That we could just forget about all of this. Take the diamonds and just let her be free, but I couldn't.

"Do it, Kev," I said, "Now."

"Okay." Big Kev sighed. He brought his phone to his ear and said, "Bring the girl in."

I closed my eyes shut as I heard the response that confirmed they were already on their way in. There was no going back from this now...
