"Well baby, we are in the comfort of my home and if you want to passionately kiss me on my lips you can." I told her causing her to laugh.
"Thank you for that." She nodded.
"No problem baby, now let's get ready for this airport traffic."
She pouted looking at me. "You're really trying to get me out of here."
"Yeah babe, I am. I feel like it's time to start working. Getting to where you need to be. No time for resting go get it baby."
"Thanks." She said and got up from the stool.
"Where you going? Finish your breakfast."
"I want to shower first!" She yelled and went into the bathroom and I shook my head before putting her breakfast into the microwave and cleaning up.
A'taya's POV
"Baby is this it?" Reginald asked with my bag in his hand.
"Yes." I smiled.
"Alright babe. Im gonna get this in the car and we can go." He said and I nodded.
"Okay. I'm gonna get my tea cup." I informed him and he went down the stairs.
"Hello." I said answering my fathers call just as I made it into the kitchen.
"Good Morning Baby Girl."
"Daddy." I smiled happily.
"You on your way out?" He asked.
"Yeah. Can you pray with me?" I asked him.
"Of course baby girl. I haven't stopped praying for you." He said.
"Dad you're gonna make me cry." I laughed.
"I'm sorry, I'm just proud of you." He said
"Thanks dad." I said and nodded.
"Let me pray. I know you're ready to go." He said and he began to pray.
Once he was done, I felt a little lighter. The weight was removed off of my shoulders and now I feel lighter.
"Alright daddy. Thank you." I said after we finished.
"You're welcome princess. Call me when you land." He said
"I will daddy. I love you." I said and grabbed my cup before going down the stairs.
I smiled seeing Reginald come out of the car to open my door. He pecked my lips and grabbed my pocket book.
"What took you so long?" He asked.
"My daddy called." I smiled.
"You're a daddy's girl I see." He said with a straight face focusing as he reversed out of his drive way.
"Yup." I nodded and sat back in my seat.
He pulled out and grabbed my hand with his right hand while his left occupied the steering wheel. I blushed a little as he covered my hand with kisses.
The drive to the airport was short lived. Barely even any traffic was present even though it's close to the holidays which made me feel a certain bit of uneasiness. As much as I'm excited about going to New York to style for this Holiday look book, I am also equal parts scared and bummed out.
I am kind of bummed out because I won't be able to see Reginald and I'll be also missing choir rehearsals and bible study this week.
I'm nervous because of the fact that this is a big turning point in my official career. I know that people will be judging my work from here on out and a part of me is nervous because of it.
I'm excited for the fact that I get to finally do what I really love, and that for once in my life I find myself being a little more than content.
Reginald parked and pulled my bags out of the trunk. As a stylist, I am supposed to bring jewelry and extra pieces for the shoot and that I did. I will be spending a lot on luggage which I don't mind because after my two suit cases and my carry on, I will be paying and I know it will be worth it.
"So this is it." Reginald said pulling the last bag out of the trunk.
"Yeah." I breathed out sadly.
"Baby you sure you don't want me to come
In?" He asked."Yeah, it's gonna make me want you to buy a ticket and come with me even more." I told him
He chuckled and kissed my lips before grabbing my hands and saying a small prayer for my safe traveling mercies.
I smiled seeing the growth in him.
"See you A'taya." He said kissing my forehead as I held on to him hugging him tightly.
A part of me is worried and when I'm worried, I just always feel like leaning into him. He pours so much strength and nurturing into my heart.
"Alright baby I love you. I know youre gonna knock them dead." He smiled.
"Thank you. I'll call you when I land." I told him.
He nodded and I pushed my cart of bags into
The airport and when I turned back he had drove off. After going through the normal scanners at the airport I sat down and sighed. Once I board this plane, my life will begin to change and I can't wait.
