I feel like I might go starstruck in the middle of the script, I tell myself to snap out of it and get to work. "Alright, Majora, the crew is just about ready. You have your script memorized, I hope?" I nod at Angela as she goes over the scene and emotions. "This scene is just your classic love story, you'll be walking while the crew portrays the rain, Channing will be running right towards you, that's when he will run into you. Keep your head on a swivel, then just take it from there on script."
The director calls me forward to put my hood up on my jacket and step onto the man-made scene. I place my hands in my pocket and see Channing getting in a sprinting position...This is either going to hurt, end badly, or end very well. "You two ready?" We both give a thumbs-up before going back to our position. I hang my head down, but keep my eyes up to look when he is getting close. "In time 3, 2, 1, action." I begin to walk closer to Channing, who has no problem speeding into me. The shock is real when I feel his body collide with mine, Angela is right when she says to stay observant. Damn! Is he a football player or a actor?
"What the hell?" I say at him gaping, thank God that is actually on my script. "I am so sorry! I need to go!" Channing sprints off screen, followed by Dave and a tall actor I have yet to meet. "What's going on?" I look to my right before the scene is cut and we all join up in a group. I find out the tall guy running with Dave is another new actor named Ryan Trieo, he says he is from downtown England and with the thick accent I can find he's telling the truth.
The three men do a few more scenes of running and fighting before I am put back into place. I change clothes yet again before sitting down at a small table on set where the scene would take place when I get a text from Nikki.
Nikki: Chris told me to give you his number, text him when you aren't busy.
I told Nikki I would after saving Chris to my phone's contact list. "Ahem, Miss Meyers? No phones on set please." I put my phone bak in my pocket, God it was like high school all over again. "Sorry." I tell the director as I shift in the chair, I look over my shoulder to see Channing getting ready to walk towards me as his crew put final touches on him. "Channing, are you ready?" He nods at the director before he goes back to setting his focus towards the table by me. "Majora?" I smile as an answer before the scene is called to start, I watch Channing walk by himself.
Stopping short when he glances at me. "Can I help you?" I give him a doubtful face while keeping my hands around a small cup. "No, you just look kind of familiar...Did I go to some dance with you?"
"No, I'm the girl you mowed over like I wasn't there yesterday." Channing sits himself in a chair across from me, resting his elbows on his knees as he rubs a hand over his fist. "Oh, you're the one who gave Marcus that note in his locker?" I bite my lip and rub my palms on my jeans. "Yes, and thanks to you the whole school knows.""My bad, I just thought I'd help in your social department."
"My social department?" Channing scoots his seat into the table while smiling stupidly. "Let's face it, you talk to no one, you're a virgin, the only person that stands up for you is your brother, who also was the one who made me run into you yesterday, and the only current help you have is me or Drew." Channing is so good at this acting thing I almost forget I am in a set not in a actual high school cafe. "Fine, if you can get Marcus to talk to me or take me on a date, I'll not just help you study in English but I will also pay you three hundred for the help." I say after we go over several other lines.
"Deal, and if I don't you tell your brother to stop chasing me down dark roads."
"And cut! That's it for now, kids! Will continue on Tuesday!" I stand from the chair and reach out to shake Channing's hand. "You are really good." He shakes my hand with a grin on his face that made me put one on my lips as well. "For a newbie, you are doing amazing at this." Channing walks me out of the studio and to my car as we talk about what our childhood was like and how we knew we wanted to act. "So, then my little brother made me show my Mom and since then they've both gotten me acting gigs till I got an actual agent."
