Josh decided to check out the other girls and secretly take pictures of them. After a while, I started hearing shouting from nearby.
"Let go of me!" I looked up and found a man, probably in his early twenties with his arms around a teenage girl. "I swear if you don't let me go I will sue you for sexual harassment!"
"Come on, cutie. Play with me for a bit." The man cooed.
"Fuck off!" She glared at him.
"No....but I'll fuck yo-ouch!! Who the fuck punched me?" He shouted, falling to the ground.
I didn't notice when I had gotten up and hit the man until the girl ran behind me and clutched onto my shirt.
"Do you want to die?!" He growled.
"Ah, ah, ah. I wouldn't talk to him like that if I were you." Josh stepped in. "That's Gregson. Gregson Hedericks."
"W-What?" He stuttered. "The Gregson who nearly killed fifty gangsters?"
"And he will kill you if you don't run right now." Josh smirked.
He didn't have to be told twice. He got to his feet and ran towards the other direction as fast as he could.
"W-wait.....you're a killer?" The girl behind me asked, suddenly letting go of my shirt and taking a couple of steps back.
I face palmed myself and glared at Josh. "No, I'm not." I told the girl. "Who was the dumbass who made up that rumor anyways?" I asked Josh.
He shrugged and started laughing. "But it gets you out of trouble, doesn't it?"
The girl was still staring at us suspiciously until a blonde hair girl jumped in between us. "I've been looking everywhere for you! Where have you been?"
"I'm sorry....I'll explain everything later." She told the blondie.
"Oh," she turned around as if she was only noticing us now. "Who are these hotties?" Blondie whispered.
The girl blushed and playfully pushed her away. Blondie giggled and smiled brightly up at me.
"What's your name?"
"My name's Josh!" Josh beamed. "You're hot by the way."
She rolled her eyes and sidestepped him towards me again. "I didn't ask you,"
"My name's Greg," I answered.
"Well my name is Jessica Harris but you can call me Jess. This is my best friend, Regina." She smiled.
Jessica Harris. I will always remember her. Even to this day, I still remember what happened. How she had looked like when it happened.Screeeech! Thump!
"W-What did we hit?" Emery asked.
"I don't know," I exhaled, opening the passenger door and walked out to the back.
My eyes widen when it came in contact with a familiar body. No. Please. Please. Please!
I ran towards the body and turned her body so her face was facing me.
"Jess....." I mumbled. I looked up frantically and Emery was staring at her with wide eyes.
"Call the ambulance!" I shouted.
I turned back towards Jess and checked for a pulse. It was a while before I found a faint pulse. I looked up and Emery was still standing there as if her feet was planted to the ground.
I took out my phone from my pocket and dialed 911.
I was walking into my room when I noticed that Emery was still awake in the living room with the tv on but she wasn't paying attention to it. She was playing around with her fingers and constantly checking her phone, probably to look at the time."Emery..." she looked up immediately and threw her phone to the side, making her way towards me.
"The woman? H-How is she?" She asked.
"Jessica Harris....." I told her. "She's in the hospital.....but she's awake and will probably be discharged in a couple of weeks."
Emery sighed in relief as I placed my hand on her shoulders.
"Go to bed, honey. Everything will be okay." She nodded before turning off the tv and going upstairs into her room.
I collapsed onto the sofa and covered my eyes with my hand as soon as she was gone. Tears were falling down my face as I recalled what the doctor said.
'She's in a coma. She's lucky if she wakes up but.....she'll be in a vegetative state forever.'
