Louis looked carefully at the identically-dressed military personnel, trying to spot the three guys who had been in his team last time. There they are. Louis went over and exchanged high-fives with Russ, Chad, and Matt. “Good to see you again, Louis,” Chad told him.
The three walked back with Louis to the other 1D boys and started chatting to Niall and Liam, who had also been in their team for the last mission.
Louis sat back down in his chair and put his feet back up and smirked at Paul, who had been effectively silenced by Alistair's comment. Still, Louis couldn't help but rub it in a little. “It'll help if we have the same teams again,” Louis told Paul, trying to keep the humour out of his voice. “It sounds like they might be short of people with powers today too, so we'll definitely all need to pitch in.”
Paul shot Louis a glare that made Louis rather glad that Paul didn't have a power.
It turned out that Alistair needn't have worried, as a few minutes later, James appeared, bringing the remaining people with powers who had participated the previous time.
“All right, everyone!” General Cooper shouted. “Take a seat and listen up!” Louis adjusted his seating position to look like he was paying attention. Everyone else clattered around, finding seats.
“Same teams as last time,” General Cooper told them. “Same plan as last time. Except for one minor difference. While the first team takes out the surveillance post, we're going to have a sniper take out the power-blocking antennae on the roof. This should make the guys with powers more effective.” Oh! Nice!
The general then ran through the entire plan carefully, explaining which teams would go where.
Boring, Louis thought. It's all the same as last time.
Harry's point of view
Déjà vu, thought Harry as the military guys on his team broke the door to the security building down and tied up the guards monitoring the security cameras. This time there were two guards in the room, but it didn't appear to give the special-forces guys any more trouble than it had last time. Within seconds both guards were tied up tight, and Harry's team leader was reporting their success on his radio.
Harry heard the reply on the radio. “Roger Team One. Advise that antennae on roof has been disabled. Over.”
Liam's point of view
Liam walked in the main entrance of the facility and looked around cautiously. Despite having done this all before, Liam was nervous. There were more guards outside this time. And Harry said there was an extra guard monitoring the security cameras.
As if reading Liam's thoughts, Louis commented, “Hopefully the added security means the guy in charge of all this is here at the moment! We can finally get him!”
Niall nodded vigorously from beside Liam.
Yeah good point. Although added security guards will make our job a bit harder.
Still, Liam wasn't too worried, as he could feel his power was stronger this time than it had been the previous time. The suppression field on the roof being disabled really helps a lot. Even last time, I was able to block bullets successfully with my power with Niall and Louis and the power-boosters all helping me.
Liam waved at Harry and Zayn as the boys and their team entered the elevator. Meanwhile Liam's team headed for the stairs.
Climbing the stairs to the first floor, Liam was strongly reminded of the previous facility they had captured. This building must have been made to the exact same plan as that one. It seems to have the exact same layout.
