Dan
When me and Phil met up it wasn't awkward. You know when you have an argument with your friend and think it will be awkward but when you see them everything is better than ever because you've told each other how you felt? That was what it was like. When Phil walked up to me I was sat on a bench staring at the sky. He sat down next to me, looked up and we watched the birds.
After five minutes or so I looked over at him. "Hey Phil, wanna go rollerblading?" He turned around to me and nodded.
"Yeah I love skating." He grinned at me and his blue eyes Glittered.
He was wearing a black t-shirt with an electric blue pikachu on it that was blaming the guitar surrounded by lightning bolts. It went really well with his hair and it made his eyes sparkle brighter than ever. I was wearing a baby blue jumper that matched my white blue and silver Flower crown and blue ombré all-stars perfectly. I had my blue highlights clipped in today. I don't die my hair as it damages it so I just clip in colour according to my outfit.
The skate rink was busy, a huge cue snaked down the road filled with teenagers and couples and groups of friends. "Hey Dan? Should we go somewhere else?" I could see the disappointment in Phils eyes so I shook my head,
"It's fine Phil, go get your hair done and I'll wait in the cue." Phil grinned at me,
"Are you sure? It's a long wait." I just smiled and nodded. He turned away and ran, yelling, "thanks Dan, you're the best."
I looked around me, pulling out my iPod nano and plugging in my headphones, relaxing at the familiar sound. This was gonna take a while.
***
Three hours and four minutes.
That is how long Phils hair took, I didn't mind. He ran through the doors and smiled when he saw me waiting. "How long?" I smiled up at him, I didn't want him to feel guilty, he was worth every second.
"It doesn't matter." He looked at me with a look that's hard to describe. You know when you hear a really sad story about a dog that gave its life to save its master and you wanna cry cause it's sad but at the same time it gives you a kind of warm fuzzy feeling cause it's so sweet. That was the look he gave me.
"You only just got in didn't you?" I smiled timidly.
"You're worth it. Your hair looks great." His fringe had been re-blued and he'd had a general trim.
"So, let's skate." I grinned and we went over to the guy at the skate rental place. We told him our sizes (shoe sizes you dirty minded smut dispenser) and he handed us two pairs of scuffed skates to wear.
"It's pretty crowded isn't it! I'm so sorry, it's probably why I had to wait so long. It is the biggest rink in the city." Phil gave me that look again as I spoke.
"I've never actually skated before." He blushed a little red as he admitted it.
"Well then, I'll just have to teach you." I did an elegant pirouette and grinned at the freedom of the wheels. Phil pulled a sad face,
"Show off." He paused, "can you teach me how.......pleeeease Danny?"
I smiled,"fine" I took his hand and slowly he began to wobble along the side of the rink
***
In half an hour he could skate confidently away from the wall
***
By an hour he was whizzing around
***
By an hour and a half he was ready to learn, I told him what to do and supported him by the waist as he turned, slowly at first but speeding up. There was a lot less pressure in being platonic, of course I still liked him but for now we were just two friends at the rink, messing about a bit.
***
By two hours he could pirouette on his own confidently.

At two and a half hours they played centuries and when the song ended we decided it was time to go. We took off our skates and made our way out, grabbing a burger and a beer and hopping on the bus at three hours.
"Come and see me at Starbucks tomorrow, I've got a lunch shift, you can meet Chris!" He stood up to get off the bus, I nodded and smiled through gritted teeth, I could do this.
