Unlike other students who's Mothers make a big fuss of their children leaving for school, my Mum helps me put my stuff on a trolley and sends me on my way to get on the platform alone.
"Have fun," she says as I place Mimi's cage on top of the trolley.
"I will! I'll see you in the holidays," I say and go to give her a hug but she's turning away already. "Bye," I say half heartedly.
I walk into the train station to the barrier between platform nine and ten. I take a small run up and disappear from the regular Muggle station and find myself on platform nine and three quarters.
As I start to push my trolley along, I look around for any of my friends, but the first person I see who I know is Fred Weasley, followed closely behind, like always, by George. "Hey TaTa!" They say at the same time.
I roll my eyes in a playful way. "Honestly, should I just give up on asking you not to use that nickname?" I ask and laugh.
"You really should," says George as he grabs my trunk and puts it on the train and Fred grabs my owl.
"Thanks," I say, because even though I don't really like people doing stuff for me, I hate loading my trunk onto the train.
"So Trista, are you excited to know who the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher is for this year?" Fred asks as we board the train. Defence Against the Dark Arts was my favourite subject even though I wasn't very good at it.
"Sort of, I mean, I just hope this one isn't a follower of You-Know-Who," I say and the twins laugh before leading off to find a seat. I continue down the train until I find Harry, Ginny, and Neville in a compartment. I slide the door open and they greet me warmly.
I sit down across from Ginny who is sitting next to a girl named Luna Lovegood. Luna is reading a magazine upside down called The Quibbler.
"Hey, Harry, Neville. Excited to be going back to Hogwarts?" Harry merely nods and Neville gets into a full blown story about how his Gran wanted him to drop Herbology next year but he didn't want to or something. I wasn't listening.
I was looking out the door to our compartment to see Logan staring inside. The train starts to get moving as Ginny wiggles her eyebrows at me as I do my signature eye roll and get up to see what he wants.
I slide open the door and step out into the walkway before closing the door again. "That's creepy, you know." I say and smile at him.
"What's is?" He asked smiling back.
"You staring through the window," I say and he laughs.
"Sorry, I was trying to get your attention," he says and starts walking away from me. I'm confused, but I find myself following him, all the way to the back of the train.
"Are we allowed to be back here?" I ask as he opens the doors and we step out onto the small balcony thing at the very back of the train. We were going fast now and it was weird looking out and feeling like the train was moving backwards. I held onto the barrier for dear life.
"Don't worry, I come here every year, that way I don't have to sit with anyone."
"Why don't you sit with people?" I ask. The wind was whipping at me and I wanted to do up my jacket but was afraid of letting go of the rail in front of me.
Logan sees me shivering and confidently, without having to hold onto the barrier, walks over closer to me and zips up my jacket. I look away from his eyes as his hands reach the top of my jacket and pull away.
"Because no one wants to sit with me," he practically whispers.
"What?" I ask, completely forgetting what we had been talking about.
"That's why I don't sit with people."
"Oh," is all I mange to say.
"It's not that bad though, I mean, at school people sit with me, but only because they are practically forced too."
I couldn't believe what he had just said, it was literally like he was describing my first three years at Hogwarts. I thought I was the only one who had felt like this in the entire school.
"Every year you come out here and sit alone?" I ask, looking out towards the horizon.
"Yep," he says, taking a step away from me and holding onto the rail.
It was strange. This Muggleborn wizard, who was in Slytherin, wasn't actually that different from me. Judged on his house, sitting alone since he first started at Hogwarts.
Just now I realise how lucky I am to have Ron, Harry, Ginny and Hermione. Because Logan, has no one.

*Fact #3*
I cried most over Dumbledore's death.
I kept telling myself, 'No, it's Dumbledore, he'll come back alive. He has to! He has to!'
And I messaged my friend and she goes, 'No he doesn't'
And I just cried more. Thanks for reading!
