"I do not." Abby says, putting her silverware down.

"Denial." Sam says in a sing song voice.

"I am not denying or confirming anything." Abby says.

"Then why are you blushing?" Sam asks.

"I'm not-" Abby starts but then Sam gives her a look.

"I saw you two together for five seconds and I was seeing sparks fly." Sam said.

Abby sighs, "his mother's dying. She has congestive heart failure. Its severe and she's not getting any better Sam. And he's an only child and he works all the time and he just hates it when he comes to see his mom. His mom may be the one on her deathbed, but its Marcus who's dying."

"Well that explains why he's your cable guy. So his mom is a patient of yours?"

"Yes." Abby says.

"How long does she have?" Sam asks.

"A couple months. Half a year if she's lucky." Abby says.

"Take him out to dinner." Sam says.

"I am not going to have dinner with him while his mom is dying in the hospital." Abby says.

"You know. He might need someone to hold his hand. Someone he can open up to and talk to without anyone judging him. That can be you." Sam says.

"I don't know. It could be more then he wants. More then I want." Abby says.

"This doesn't have to be romantic. Unless you want it to be." Sam says.

Sam keeps looking at Abby. Abby looks around the room, "fine. I'll set up a reservation." Abby finally says.

"No. I'll do that. You go talk to him about dinner tomorrow night at seven." Sam says getting out her phone.

Abby walks out the door and Marcus is getting ready to leave. "Hey Marcus." Abby says walking over to him.

"Yeah? Is it my mom? Is she okay?" Marcus asks.

"No. Umm. I was just wondering....if maybe you would like to get dinner tomorrow night?" Abby asks.

"I don't know if I can-" Marcus asks.

"Its on me. I thought you could use a friend right now and not a hospital meal. Trust me I know how gross it is."

"Okay. Yeah. Tomorrow night. Sounds great." Marcus says.

"We can meet here at six thirty?" Abby asks.

Marcus nods as he backs up to his vehicle. "Yeah I'll be here."

Abby nods, "good."

Abby says goodbye and walks back in. She breathes out a sigh of relief as she shuts the door with her back, "oh boy." She walks back into the kitchen and sits down.

"So?" Sam asks.

"Yeah. He said yes." Abby says.

"Good. Dinner is at that Italian gourmet place down on 25th Street." Sam says.

Abby nods, "you got a reservation there?"

"Yeah. I know people. This guy. He kind of owes me a favour. Well not anymore."

"Well now I owe you one." Abby says.

"Nah. Just consider it an early wedding present." Sam says.

"What?"

"You two are totally going to get married." Sam says.

"You can't stop can you?" Abby asks.

"Nope. By the way I call dibs on maid of honor." Sam says.
