Yasmine🌸:
Woof woof.
I wake up to the sound of my German Shepard, Caesar, barking. I grab my phone off of my bedside table and see that its 7:02am. Oh God, I missed my alarm again. After grabbing the outfit that I laid out before bed and a towel, I run to the bathroom and have a quick shower. Once I'm done, I brush my teeth and get dressed.

I go back into my bedroom and blow dry my hair before putting it into a bun and putting on some light makeup. I grab a plain black hijab and wrap it securely around my head before grabbing my phone and purse and going to grab myself a quick breakfast.
I walk into the kitchen and see Caesar drinking out of his bowl.
"Good morning boy." I say rubbing his fluffy head.
I see a note on the island and pick it up. 'Had an early shift, meet you at the gym at 6 x -Aleena' it says.
I grab an apple from the fruit bowl before putting on my black platform heels and leaving the apartment for work. "See you later, Caesar." I shout before locking the door.
I get into my white Fiat 500 and drive to work. My family own a multi-millionaire trades company called Right Trade. I work there three days a week and my dad, Abdullah Taufeeq works here the rest of the days. We mainly trade clothing and sometimes materials.
I park my car and walk into the office.
"Good morning, Miss Taufeeq." Susan greets me from behind her desk at the entrance.
"Morning Susan." I reply, before walking into my office.
I get out my laptop and sitting down at my desk, ready to work my ass off.

I spent the day reading through and signing contracts from traders. I look at my watch and see that it's quarter to 6.
Oh crap, I'm gonna be late meeting Aleena.
I turn off my laptop before grabbing my bag and going to my car.
It takes me about 20 minutes to get to the local gym. I grab my gym bag out of the boot of my car before running into the gym. I go into the changing room and get dressed into my gym clothes and then put my stuff in a locker. I take off my hijab and put it in the locker and then lock it. It's okay, it's a women only gym.
I walk into the gym and see Aleena on a treadmill. I get onto the one next to her and put it on a jogging pace.
"You're late." Aleena says, glaring at me accusingly.
"Hello to you too, and I lost track of time. I hope you can forgive me." I said patting her shoulder.
"I hate you." she said before putting her earphones in and continuing running.
We finish at gym and Aleena goes back to the apartment, while I go to my parents for dinner.
I ring the doorbell and my mom answers.
"Assalamualaikum Mama." I said hugging her.
"Salam beti." she welcomed me in.
I walked in and looked around for my 6 year old brother, Ibrahim. I saw him run into the room and he jumped into my arms. "Yasi, you're home! I really missed you." he exclaimed before hugging me.
"I missed you too, Ibby." I replied, calling him by his nickname.
"Dinner will be ready soon. Go clean up and I'll call you down when it's done." Mama said, before going into the kitchen.
I went to my old bedroom and dropped onto my bed. I took my phone out of my bag and started scrolling through my Instagram feed.
After a while my mom called me and Ibby down. I put my phone in my pocket before washing my hands and going downstairs.
"Assalamualaikum Baba." I greeted my dad, who had returned from work. I sat down in the seat next to him.
"Assalamualaikum Beti, how have you been?" he asked.
"Good, Baba. How about you? You taking care of your health?"
"Yes Beti, I've told you, don't worry about me, I'm fine." he said.
Mama finished putting the plates down and joined us at the table. Baba did a quick duaa (prayer) before we all ate our food.
Once everyone was done, I help mom clean up, while Ibby ran to his room and Baba went to read Maghrib prayer in the Mosque.
I sat down on the sofa and turned on the TV. My mom then walked in and turned it off.
"Mama! I was about to watch that!"I said crossing my arms.
"Beti, I need to talk to you about something." she replied sitting down next to me.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong, I just need to ask you something and you have to answer seriously."
"Um, okay?"
"Have you ever thought about marriage?"
Well, that caught me off guard.
"What!? I- Um... No, not really, I guess. Well, I have, but- I don't know." I mumbled quickly.
"Stop stressing Beti, it's okay if you haven't."
"No it's just that, I have thought about it. I've been meaning to ask you and Baba to, um, find a suitor, I guess, for some time now."
"You have? That's great Beti, we've actually had someone ask for your hand."
"Really, who?" I asked shocked.
"Do you remember Baba's friend, brother Abdullah?" I nodded, waiting for her to continue. "Well his son, Zohaib, want's your hand."
"WHAT!? Zohaib Shareef!?" I haven't heard that name in so long. He used to be my best friend when we were younger. Our families would meet up a lot and myself, Zohaib and his sister, Zahra, would hang out together and then we grew up and just lost contact.
"Yes, the same Zohaib. Me and your father could arrange to meet him and his family, if you want to."
"Um, yeah, I guess.""Oh my God! This is great Beti, after your father gets home I'll ask him to arrange it."
"Okay, Mama, I should go, Aleena must be waiting for me. Tell Ibrahim I love him." I said before grabbing my phone, kissing my mom's cheek and leaving.
I got into my car and rested my head on my steering wheel.
"What have I gotten myself into?" I whispered.
