Chapter 4

They all started chatting about the tour and where they would go.

"Dude, what about Asia?" Kevin asks excitedly.

"Like China?" Esther asks.

"Not just there... We could revisit Japan! Dude I loved it there!"

Avi and Esther nod with smile on their faces.

"Or maybe even South America! I really want to see the Amazon." Scott added.

"That sounds like so much fun!" Avi exclaimed.

Kevin, Scott, and Esther laughed.

"I wonder if I can find any dragons down there.."

Esther chuckled. "The only thing you're going to find are trees, lots of 'em."

Avi laughed, low and soft.

All of a sudden, Mitch walked in silently.

The whole room was silent.

Everyone watched him drag his feet with a glum expression painted on his face.

He finally sat down in a seat in the corner of the room.

Avi and Scott made direct contact.

Avi pointed to his eye and mouthed, "how did Mitch get that?"

"A pan fell on his face," Scott mouthed back.

Avi nodded and whispered to Kevin and Esther the explanation.

They all nodded with understanding.

Mitch was looking down in his lap the whole time.

"You alright there Mitch?" Esther asked, putting down her phone fully.

Mitch showed his fake smile and nodded.

Esther studied his smile.

"Alright then."

Mitch's smile faded and he went on his phone to text Travis.

Mitch: The meeting is over in an hour, is that ok?

Travis: Of course not, you need to come over here. NOW.

Mitch: I have to be here though, I'll leave early ok?

Travis: Fine. But don't expect everything to be fairytale land when you get here, I'm not happy.

Mitch: I'm sorry daddy. I love you.

Travis: Whatever.

Mitch turned off his phone.

Scott watched Mitch's expressions as he texted Travis. He was scared. Afraid.

But Scott couldn't say anything, it would make things worse to ask him about it in front of everyone. They don't even know about Travis.
