I turned around slowly, only to see a sly grin on her lips, she tilted her head ever so slightly. Standing up from her seat and began to pass me until she stopped to look down at me.
“You deserve it.” She says while slowly stepping away.
I watched her back until she went through the door. Hearing the second bell, I run out of the class room and only to run into the nearest bathroom. What did she do to me? I turned around so that I could see my back in the mirror. That mean cheerleader stuck a bunch of gum in my hair. How much did she chew? The gum wasn’t in one place either, she stuck them in random parts of my hair. My hair! How could she do that?
I lay awake on my bed with Ty sleeping next to me, his arm draped on my waist. I guess he must have carried me to bed again. That means that Ellie was still sleeping on the couch and was about to fall any minute now. I stayed completely still, glancing at Ty sometimes with a smile upon my lips. Tilting my head to look at the ceiling next and to remember my past childhood of bullies. All that bullying about my looks and hobbies, awful. Ty starts to stir a bit in bed, pulling my body closer to his with that one arm around me. I feel soft lips being pressed onto my warm cheek, automatically closing my eyes and feeling myself smile slightly.
“Good morning, Beautiful.” Ty greets me with his husky deep voice.
I keep my eyes closed but turn to him, knowing that our lips were about to touch until- Thump!
“Scarlet! Ah! Ow! “ Ellie yells on the other side of our door. She must have fallen from the couch just then. I heard Ty laughing beside me and footsteps approaching our door rapidly. Then the banging began.
“Scarlet! Tyler! How could you two leave me there again? Let me in!” she screamed through the door.
A few more bangs on the door and then silence. Ellie must have went back to her room for more sleep before classes would start.
“Now where were we…”
His hand gently guided my head to turn towards his beautiful smiling face. I didn’t say a word and started to lean in when his lips captured mine in an amazing kiss. I melted against him, forgetting about my ugly past and Ellie’s previous banging. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I began to pull him towards me. Slowly I laid on my back again and Ty was hovering above me to keep his weight off, our lips never parted. The warm feeling engulfed me in our moment.
“I AM COMING IN!”
Tyler and I pulled away quickly, looking over at our door. In only a few moments Ellie burst through the door way with a bunch of bobby pins in her hand. With a firm stance, she pointed at both of us.
“You! You….UGLIES!” She yelled at us, trying to look as scary as possible. Though there was no possible way for her to look scary, she always was going to look like a cute little pup.
“Yes?” I reply with a question.
The glare she has been previously giving us has vanished. Replacing that adorable glare was her famous pout. I gently pushed Ty to my other side, making him fall beside me.
“Ellie, we were kind of busy..” He groaned.
I give him a small peck on the lips before lifting up the comforter for Ellie to slide in with us. She did as I expected and snuggled into the warmth, her pout once again replaced with a smile.
“Let’s all live in harmony!” I yelled to no one in particular.
“At least you both had clothes on this time..” Ellie mumbled into the comforter.
“Well maybe you shouldn’t just walk into a person’s room without knocking.” Ty snaps back at her.
I shook my head at the two sillies. Sometimes I felt as though I was the only adult in this apartment. Grumbling, I lifted my hands from beneath the warmth and placed my palms on their faces. Yes, their faces. Why not their mouths? My aim was off…
“SCARLET!” They both yelled beneath my hand slap to the face.
“Whoops…” I calmly reply, quickly flipping over onto my stomach and burying my face into my pillow. I knew I couldn’t escape their next move but hiding my face usually worked. What exactly is their next move?
“Poke! Poke! Poke!” Both of them began to say while poking me to the maximum. Truthfully, sometimes I did enjoy this lovely massage but today was not that day.
“Gah! Why am I stuck with you two?” I asked, annoyed.
“Because you love me” Was Ty’s answer.
“Uh, your lack of knowledge..” Ellie replied.
Sighing, I started to get out of the comforter only to have to crawl to the end of the bed. I really need to get a bigger bed or maybe a couch that would fit in this room. I don’t need mice or bed bugs to infest my room, nope, I got two humans already.
“Thanks so much. So what are we doing tonight?”
“What do you mean tonight? We’re skipping!” Ellie explains to me.
“Ellie, you’ve never skipped a day in your life. I don’t see why you’d skip today.” I reply to her ridiculous idea.
Arms wrap around my waist and a warm body presses itself against my back. Looking up, I see a stupid grin on Ty’s face.
“Am I missing something?” I ask him, a bit confused.
His stupid grin only gets bigger.
“Happy birthday, Scarlet!”
