"Hello class of 2014!" Monica screeched into the phone, earning claps and cheers from everyone that was in the crowd. I clapped silently, not really feeling like going all out. This wasn't graduation here.
Monica continued speaking; "This year has been filled with many transformations and unknown talent being revealed. As you know, here at Seminole High we always make it our business to choose someone who has the most talent in the 12th grade to perform on stage at prom," I never knew that they did this, but I guess they've always done it. Pretty cool.
"This year our Senior class has chosen Ms. Daisyrae Flitter to perform a song of her choosing. Come up here Daisy!" My eyes quickly widened and I looked down to face Daisy. She didn't look surprise at all. She looked like she was expecting this.
They probably told her ahead of time, so she would get herself situated. She wiggled out of my grasp, turning her body around. She gave me a soft smile, "Wish me luck," She giggled before leaning up and pressing a soft kiss to my lips.
The spotlight followed her as she made her way up towards the stage. She walked up the three steps, stopping once she was standing next to LaKayla. "What song would you like?" LaKayla asked.
"I have my own," Blossom nodded, opening up her purse. She searched through it, quickly pulling out a flash drive. She handed it over to LaKayla who went and plugged it into the computer. It took a few seconds for the song to start playing, but LaKayla quickly started it over pausing it.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, Daisyrae Flitter." Monica announced one last time before she handed the mic over to Daisy. Both her and LaKayla made their way down the steps. The lights dimmed again, just one single spotlight on Blossom.
Her started playing and she instantly starting singing. I've known that Daisy could sing for awhile now, but her voice still gave me chills.
"I wanna say we're going steady...like it's 1954. No. It doesn't have to be forever...just as long as I'm the name on your tattooed heart," I've never heard this song before, so I had a feeling that she wrote this herself.
"She's so good," I heard from beside me. I turned around to see Dean standing there with Brandy at his side. I nodded my head, returning my attention to my girlfriend. I loved her voice.
"And I'll show you..how much I want to be..on your tattooed heart," People were slow dancing to her song, but I stayed still. I watched as she sang, her eyes closing when she hit any type of high note.
She was so perfect.
"Wrap me in your jacket...My baby...and lay me in your bed...and kiss me underneath the moonlight..." The whole time she was singing her eyes were on me. She shot a wink in my direction and I didn't know how she managed to do it, but my cheeks tinted a light pink color.
How this girl made me blush will always be a mystery to me. With just the beat playing and the her voice that was on the recording, she twirling around her dress following with her. She was swaying back and forth to the beat of the music and I wanted so bad to just go up there and grab her and kiss her.
