Chapter 13

"Then why it look like you sneaking out or something" She obviously wasn't falling for my lie.

"Listen ma, I would really love to sit here and play 21 questions with you but a nigga needs to bounce." Without looking at her I made my way out the door and into my new customised Audi R8.

I didn't even realise when I pulled up to Asia's condo. I switched off my engine, got out the car and speed walked to the reception but saw her on the phone so I just made my way to the elevator had I had no time to waste. I knocked on Asia's door but decided to just walk in

"Asia!" I called out seeing no sign of her in her living room, I made my way to her room and found her lying on the floor unconscious, bleeding. "Fuck" I screamed. "Asia" I called out to her but she wasn't responding. I picked her up and waited impatiently for the elevator.

I pulled up in front of the hospital that we use for her check-up. I carried her into the hospital and few nurses made their way to me with a stretcher and started asking so many questions while they rushed her into a certain room. I sat down on the floor, I honestly had no idea when my life became like this. I felt so exhausted not only physically but mentally.

Dr. Smith, Asia's doctor came out of the room. "August please follow me." I hurriedly stood up and followed her into her office. "Is she okay?" I asked immediately when we sat down. "Well as you know Asia is 5 months pregnant and the baby is finally developing but someone tried stopping the process so it's either she tried to take pills or she was poisoned" I stared at the doctor with no emotion or whatsoever, I had no idea why she would try to do such.

"Is the baby okay?" For some reason I didn't want anything happening to the baby as there might be a 90% chance that it's mine, of course I cared about Asia. "Yes and Asia as well, we managed to flush everything out of her system in time but at this stage she is asleep now. We need to find out exactly what happened and I think it is not safe for her to stay on her own anymore." She said pushing her glasses closer to her eyes and giving me a stern look.

"Yeah, will make a plan. Can I see her now?" I was so exhausted at this point. I was actually angry I wanted to see her and question her about exactly what happened and why the fuck she would want to kill the baby after I agreed to take responsibility.

"Yes, you can, she got moved to the ward on the last floor, she is in the room by the left." I thanked her, stood up and made my way to the room.

My heart dropped when I saw her connected to so many drips, I moved closer to her bed and sat on the chair next to it. She looked so peaceful, I gently reached out for her hand and held on to it softly.  She felt and looked so fragile. I decided to wake her so we could talk about the shit that happened.

"Asia" I called tapping her lightly. She opened her eyes slightly and quickly closed them back putting her hands on her head. "You okay ? You need anything?" I asked getting closer to her. "Still water" she said with raspy voice.

I went back into the room with a bottle of still water and handed it to her and sat back in my seat. "Wuh happened? Why the fuck woud you do such shi' while that could be my fucking seed you carryin'. You gat me fucked up bru" I said with my deep new Orleans accent, I didn't even bother beating around the bush or shit. She sighed looking the other way "Keith" she said with her voice breaking "I thought he was out of town and gone for good but today" she stopped and wiped the tears that were slowly rolling down "today he came and was very angry, because I told him before he left that there is a chance you are the father so it was the reason he got mad and left, he came and then he forced so many pills into my mouth and afterwards he-" she broke down again, I moved closer to her and lied on the hospital bed pulling her into me "What the fuck did he do?" I asked trying to remain calm but I was burning with anger. "H-ee ra-ped me" she finally said burying her face into me chest
