Especially the door.
That was one of the things they both held a stubborn stance on. Neither of them liked walking all the way downstairs to check who was at the door and to let them in. In fact, they were so lazy and hated these menial household tasks so much that they wouldn't even leave their rooms for a round of best two out of three rock-paper-scissors with the loser getting the privilege of doing the chore. They'd just count down from three from both of their beds and then yell either rock, paper, or scissors out loud at the same time.
That's how hard-headed and lazy the Dalton sibling duo could be. I had witnessed that firsthand ever since Kindergarten.
"Who dropped you?"
I followed Caleb's gaze behind me and sure enough Quinn's car was already further down the street.
"Just a friend," I shrugged off.
"Whose clothes are you wearing?" Caleb further pressed, his eyes narrowed and eyebrows quirked higher as he took note of the comfortably loose attire enveloping my frame. The outfit was so comfortable that I had almost forgotten I was in Quinn's clothing.
"Scoot over." Ignoring Caleb's interrogation, I reached up and messed up his bedhead even further and then playfully shoved him to the side to finally enter the house.
Rushing up the stairs and to the hall, I wrenched the doorknob opposite Caleb's room to reveal Sab's room with passed out drunkards across the floor.
Those drunkards were my friends.
Dear lord.
It doesn't even surprise me that Sabrina went back to sleep after having won rock-paper-scissors against Caleb on opening the door for me from the way she as well as Alex and Julia are sprawled out.
Just from the looks of them, I can tell when they regain total consciousness and wake up fully, I'd be taking over Sab's role in babysitting all their hangovers.
They're not even sleeping on the bed anymore. Some time during the course of the morning, they had all ended up in a tangle of limbs on the floor adjacent to the bed.
Alex is in the middle of the jumble with her body star fished. Both her arms are poorly (nd what seems like really painfully contorted and thrown across the torsos of both Julia and Sabrina, in what I assume was an unsuccessful attempt at cuddling both Julia and Sabrina at her sides. Alex's mouth is parted open wide and drool stains decorate her cheeks. Sabrina's hair is also strewn over her mouth. Yum.
Sabrina, closest to the bed, has one leg angled precariously on the edge of the bed. I'm sure any moment now gravity will take over and send her leg crashing down. Her other leg, instead of resting on the ground like a normal person sleeping, is perpendicular to the floor, so it looks like she's been sleep-working out and doing one-legged bridge exercises. Somehow her head is lolled to her right, and I'm seriously wondering how bad her neck crick will be. Her mouth is puckered, and it looks like she's giving a really disgusting kiss to the floor.
Julia, on Alex's other side, is the opposite of Sabrina and Alex's more spread out positions. She, instead, is on her side facing the wall and not Alex, her body embracing a fetal position. With her head tucked in more to her chest, her curled up body supports one of Alex's legs, which is casually laying on Julia.
Snickering at their positions, I capture a picture of them before waking them up and taking care of them like the good friend I am.
Bending down, I gently shake Julia, confident that unlike Quinn, Julia's more tamed personality won't send a flying punch to my face.
