The Lost Lightwood

Chapter 4

They walked out of the party but Clary looked like she was about to collapse.
"Jace." Izzy called for him.
Jace turned around. "Clary, we have to move.
"I'm catching my breath." Clary replied and Izzy and Amelia held her up.
"You know what? This is great.
And not only did Magnus not get the girl her memories back, he took the necklace. This is fantastic." Alec said, annoyed.
"Alec, her name is Clary and I highly suggest you keep your voice down." Jace told him.
"Why? What, are you afraid I'm gonna upset her? We have risked our lives again and again for this girl, and where has it gotten us? Nowhere. We're no closer to getting the Mortal Cup. And we've lost the Institute's necklace." Alec said.
"Hey! I am right here!" Clary yelled. "I don't care about your damn jewelry. I'm sorry you're gonna look bad in front of your bosses, okay? But my mother is still missing and my last chance at finding her just disappeared into thin air."
"Clary it's gonna be fine." Jace said.
"No it's not!" Clary replied. "People are dying because of me. And Magnus? Magnus will never come out of hiding again while Valentine is still after him. We're never gonna find him and I will never get my memories back."
Jace grabbed her hand and got the button from Magnus's jacket from her.
"You give up too easily." Jace said and then held the button and drew a rune on his hand.
"What is he doing?" Clary asked.
"He's tracking Magnus." Amelia told her.
"Be quiet and keep your distance." Alec said.
"The button belonged to Magnus." Izzy said. "Jace can pinpoint the location using that."
"No." Jace said and walked over to them. "The signal's not strong enough. Magnus must be blocking the track. Let's do this Alec."
Alec walked over to Jace and he drew a rune on Alec's hand. They held the button between their hands and started to track Magnus.
"Do what?" Clary asked.
"Parabatai tracking." Amelia answered.
"Of course they are." Clary said.
"When parabatais track, their power grows stronger. Jace and Alec are gonna track Magnus together." Izzy explained.
"Got him." Jace said and started to walk away so they all followed.

"Magnus' lair is right behind that fence." Jace said when they arrived.
"Magnus lives in a warehouse?" Clary asked.
"Not exactly." Jace answered. "Warlock glamour."
"Something's wrong." Izzy said. "It's far too easy to get this close."
"His protective wards must be down." Amelia said.
"You. Don't get in the way." Alec said, harshly to Clary.
They all heard some fighting and then a body fell.
"Oh god! Valentine found Magnus!" Clary said.
"Daddy! Daddy?" A little warlock girl ran over to the body. "Daddy, get up, please."
"Watch out!" Clary screamed and the little girl ran to Clary as Clary kicked a man, who was walking up to the girl.
"Clary Fairchild." The man said. "Valentine will be so pleased to meet you."
The man was about to stab Clary with the seraph blade he was holding when Izzy wrapped her whip around his hand and pulled his hand down. Jace was about to stab the man when a hooded figure ran in and started fighting with the man. They couldn't tell whether this hooded figure was a girl or boy. They were quite good at fighting. The man wrapped his arm around the hooded figure's neck but he or she stabbed him and killed him. Alec, Izzy, Jace, Clary and Amelia looked at the hooded figure for a while before they decided to take their hood off. It was a girl with blonde hair and blue eyes, around the same age as them, covered in runes. Obviously a Shadowhunter.
"Evie?" Jace asked.
"Jace!" She said excitedly and they hugged each other.
"Sorry to interrupt but who is this?" Amelia asked.
"Evie is my childhood friend." Jace told them.
"I don't remember you having a childhood friend." Izzy said.
"No we were childhood friends before my father got killed and I started living with you. When I was adopted by Maryse and Robert, me and Evie never saw each other again." Jace explained. "What are you doing here?" He asked her.
"I saw you at the Downworlder's rave and I saw you run out so I followed you because I wasn't certain it was you but it was!" Evie said. "So this is your family?" Evie asked.
"Yeah I'm Amelia, I was adopted into the Lightwood family too." Amelia introduced herself. "This is Izzy and Alec Lightwood."
"Nice to meet you." Evie smiled. "And who's this?" Evie asked, turning to Clary.
"This is Clary, she's Jocelyn Fairchild's daughter." Jace said.
"You forgot to mention the part where she's also Valentine's daughter." Alec said.
"Alec, just let it go. She had no idea that Valentine was her father." Amelia said.
"We don't know that." Alec replied.
"Alec, just lighten up ok?" Izzy said and Alec stopped talking and walked away.
"Well it's nice to meet you." Evie smiled at Clary.
"Let's go find Magnus." Jace said and they all followed him.
