Chapter 9: School Sleepover

Start from the beginning

"You better; I don't have any cheese for him!" Marinette teased. Adrien rolled his eyes, running back over to his stuff just as a teacher was making the rounds.

"Alright, is everyone ready for truth or dare?" Rose asked, waving a hand in the air to get everyone's attentions. "Get in a circle!"

Nino made his way over to Alya, sharing a blanket with her as the two snuggled and waited. Adrien plopped down beside Marinette before he could accidentally lock eyes with Chloe. He'd changed into a big black pull-over hoodie and a pair of flannel pants (since it was a rule that pajamas had to be modest, making most boys groan and complain that they slept in their underwear). Marinette was in a pair of fuzzy pink pants covered in little hearts and teddy bears with a plain white t-shirt.

"You should get Plagg," Marinette whispered to Adrien. He nodded and leaned across the sea of bedding to find his kwami, who was curled up asleep beside Tikki. Adrien almost felt bad disturbing him when he was in such a peaceful state. Almost. He could finish napping in the pocket of Adrien's hoodie. "Is he comfy?" Marinette giggled.

"No," Plagg hissed, sticking his tongue out from the pocket.

"Shhh," Adrien pushed the kwami's head back into the pocket.

"Alright, we all know the rules! If you choose dare, you have to do whatever the person tells you to. If you choose truth, you have to tell the absolute truth no matter how embarrassing!" Rose explained, giggling as she sat down. "I'll do the first one!"

She called on Marinette. "Truth..." Marinette said hesitantly, ignoring certain groans and complaints about a lame start.

"Do you like Adrien?" Rose asked.

Marinette rolled her eyes, smiling slightly. She could feel the grin radiating off Adrien, who was turned to face her, hands under his chin as he leaned as close as she would allow. "Maybe," Marinette answered. "Depends on the day." There was a huff to her side and she shoved the boy, nearly making him fall over.

Marinette called on Kim, who obviously accepted a dare. "I dare you to..." she paused to think, "let us paint your nails hot pink," she said with an evil grin.

"What! No way!" the boy yelled.

"You have to!" someone else chipped in as the class went into a laughing fit. He eventually resigned to his fate, letting Alya pretty him up. They went through several more rounds until Nino ended up calling on Adrien.

"Adrien! Truth or dare, bro?"

Now, as innocent as the blond might be, Adrien knew that his best friend knew many – some would say too many – of his secrets. All his weakness, embarrassing stories, everything. There was absolutely no way Adrien was picking truth. Nope. Not happening.

"OK, I dare you to eat a whole can of cat food," Nino said with a snicker.

"Fine," Adrien smirked. Could have been way, way worse. Little known fact, there was hidden dog and cat food in one of the empty lockers just in case a stray ended up at the school and the students decided to adopt it. Which is how Nino got his hands on a can of wet food.

"Yum, Tuna and Eggs..." the boy said, gagging as the smell entered his nose. "Yuck! Blech, oh god..." He handed the can to Adrien, who at this point wasn't so sure of his choice for dare. He was definitely not getting a good-night kiss from Marinette...

"Uck! Did you choose the worst smelling one there?" Adrien asked, pinching his nose. Nino shrugged, giving his best friend a good luck thumbs-up as he remembered he had to sleep beside the boy later. "Well...might as well go for it..."

He stabbed the plastic spoon into the brown mess, giving it one more hesitant sniff before reluctantly shoving it in his mouth.

Huh.
