With a racing heart, I meet eyes with Eliot and smile more confidently.
"You think?" I ask.
"I know." He grins before kissing me softly.
A few days later...
I zip up the last suitcase, huffing in relief as I collapse onto the bed beside it. My eyes scan over the empty bedroom one last time for anything I could have missed but all I find is the random pieces of furniture that are staying here such as the chest of drawers and bedside tables along with the bed I'm currently sitting on.
It didn't really take us long to pack up our things. I haven't got many belongings here anyway, mostly clothes and a few baby things that I've brought. I've mostly been helping everyone else pack their things. Emily had enough clothes to supply the country. She now has a lot of suitcases packed into the cars. Eliot and Chase seem to travel a little lighter than her but they both still have quite a lot of things that they brought here with them.
I hear a soft knock on the half-open door and turn my head to see Chase poke his head around it.
"Hey, you finished?" He asks stepping further into the room.
I nod, quickly scanning the room one more time.
"I think so."
Chase walks towards me and sits down on the bed beside me. He nudges me softly with his elbow.
"What?" I laugh as he nudges me again.
"Nervous?"
"A little. But if his family are anything like him then I'm sure I'll be fine."
"They're great, I promise. Eliot has been talking to his parents about you ever since he first met you. They feel like they know you already. His mum is very excited to meet you." Chase tells me smiling reassuringly.
"Well, then I'm excited to meet them also."
"Good because we're leaving today." My eyes widen as he grins and stands up. He grabs my suitcase and lifts it from the bed to carry out of the room.
"What?"
"We're leaving to go home today so pee and get what you need preggers because we're packing the cars up now."
I do as I'm told and use the bathroom, grab anything else I need and then head downstairs to where everyone else is. The house seems weird now that it's almost empty. But it does feel good to be leaving this place and moving further away from Jack. I'm hoping to never see him again. Eliot has control of my house now, not Jack. In the beginning, I hated the fact that Jack sold my house to Eliot but it seems to have worked well in my favour.
"Hey beautiful, you OK?" Emily stops in front of me with a box in her hands.
"I'm good thanks. You still packing?" I ask her curiously.
"Just this last box and then we should be ready to go." Emily walks out of the front door just as Eliot enters the house.
"Hi there." I greet him, smiling as he chuckles.
"Hi. Ready?"
His eyes sparkle as he holds out a hand for me to take. I take it softly and step down from the last stair of the staircase.
"How long is this journey again?"
"About an hour."
"Maybe I should pee again."
Eliot laughs shaking his head.
"Do you need to?"
"Well no, I just went but I have a baby sitting on my bladder. I might need to go again."
