"You are." his voice was firm and confident, yet gentle at the same time.
I whirled and walked away.
That evening, I pulled up in the parking lot of the supermarket a few blocks from home.
I replayed my conversation with Humphrey …You are
I pushed the trail with searching eye. I had agreed to be the one buying groceries with Neil. It was the least I could do, after all he's done for me.
I slowly walked to the counter. There was an old woman with very heavy eyeballs.
She welcomed me with a sweet smile.
I paid and thanked her.
It's a pity, people her age weren't supposed to be working.Though, that wasn't exactly my business. I pushed the tray outside to my car. I unloaded everything inside the boot. They filled the space well but my car wasn't really made for grocery shopping.
I whirled and walked to the DBS front seat's door. Before I could reach it, a hand found my mouth shutting me up. My heart beats accelerated as the person started to drag me away. I struggled in his grip, he was holding me tight by the waist. I fought but my legs only hit the air around.
"Stop __ fighting. " a male voice growled in my ears. I felt his breath on my cheek, pressed hard near his hard body. I bent my arm and hit him hard in the stomach with my elbow. He immediately released me. Without another glance behind me, I ran to my car.
"Help!" I shouted but there were no passersby. The parking lot was empty except for me and the cars around. I could here my heart thud in my head. I shakily drew the keys from my pocket, but before I could open the door, a large strong hand found my head and slammed it into a the window of the pickup parked next to my car.
I felt the glass pierce my head in a sharp rip. The alarming spread of the warm wetness soaked my hair and down my neck to my shirt. I fell, the dizziness overcoming my body. The man started pulling me away again. I could see a dark shape coming towards us in the dark. I heard the man halt in his pace.
"What are you doing here?” he said in a snarl. His fear and surprise weren't easily hidden, though. “If you have come to stop me you're dead. He will know."
"I know, he won't be able to resist anyway...that is if he finds out." I froze at her voice. I was sure to recognize it anywhere. I opened my eyes to see her raise a gloved hand. The man loosened his grip on me slowly groaning in pain. His hands held his throat as he struggled for breath, falling on his knees as he panted. I watched him hit the ground.
She slowly approached me. Suddenly, my view was so clear and no blur covered me from watching like earlier. I had fell to the ground, blood dripping from my hair, heart beating fast. I started to crawl away, but an invisible force held me in place. It felt like real hands tightened around me.
"I'm here, darling. Don't worry, it's me you're safe now."
"You're dead," I breathed in horror.
"No, I'm here, and it's going to be fine now … it's going to be okay." she knelt besides me, and lifted my head to kiss my forehead. I sobbed on her touch. Tears started to fall.
"Mom,"

"Gwen, stay with me," I heard my mother's urgent voice. I could hear the car accelerate as I laid in the back seat, blood slowly flowing onto the leather “We're almost there" I heard distant broken sobs, as she told me to keep my eyes open and I tried to do just that. Fight. The pain in my head was unbearable.
"Gwen, open your eyes," I tried to find her. To tell her everything was alright but I couldn't speak. My throat was surprisingly dry like the chance for me to survive this.
My thoughts drifted. I saw dark blue eyes looking at the depths of my soul, his words.
I really needed to see a doctor. I was going to die and my last thought was my neighbor.A sharp stab hit my head as a force lifted me from the back seat. I cried out at it's intensity. The torture was endless. I heard a door being slammed open.
"Anthony!" my mom cried, agony in her voice. I felt my body being laid down. "Ida?" a male voice called in surprise.
"You have to help me! She's lost blood, I think the wound in the head is deep," her voice was urgent. They paused.
"Please, it's my daughter."
"Of course, dear," I felt cool fingers brush my forehead. "I'm afraid I'll have to use my blood to heal her, she doesn't have a long time." a deep calm voice informed.
"Mom,"
"You'll be fine, darling. You're going to be fine now." I felt soft lips press against my forehead.
"Please, take care of her for me," he warm hands left mine and fear suddenly lanced through me. My whole body began to shake and my eyes filled with tears.
"No," I sobbed. Footsteps echoed in the room. Someone was gently removing broken glasses from my head and hair because I heard them drop in a bowl.
"Shhh, I'll take care of you." the male voice said “Don't cry, little doll.”
"Good bye, Gwenaëlla. Forgive me, darling."
my mother's voice was far. The door shut closed and tears rolled down my face.
"Here," the man said. "Drink all of it, you'll feel no pain after." a glass was pressed softly on my lips. I opened my mouth, a cool liquid slowly streamed down my throat.
I realised it was blood, the iron was sharp against my nose, and I tried to pull away but cool hands held it in place on my mouth.
I swallowed reluctantly, wanting to throw up, but I had no force for that too. The blood ran down my throat.
A lumb formed in my chest as broken sobs escaped my mouth.
Darkness was quickly swallowing me completely this time and I couldn't fight it any longer. The pain was slowly dissipating but I felt awfully exhausted.______________________________________
