29) Reunited ⭐️

There's "Mr. Science Junior", "If you can dream it, you can become it", a shirt with a Vaporeon poking out of the pocket, and... pft.

"Error 404: Costume not found." The rest of the shirts are all white and grey polos.

I decide to loot around the rest of Impact's room. Sure, it's weird, rude, and partially scandalous, but there might be something important here...

A rainbow of scarves is stashed inside the drawers haphazardly. I root around them, and my hand touches something metal.

It's another key.

"Where would this key fit...?" I wonder aloud.

I grab a plate of spaghetti from the self-sustaining tornado of trash (which has a plush shark wearing sunglasses circling around it), and leave the room. Then the house.

"Tyler... How about around the back?" Luke suggests. I raise one of my eyebrows, and shrug.

"It's worth a shot." I reply.

Surprisingly, there IS a back door to the house. I try the key, and it's a perfect fit.

The basement seems...abandoned. A sheet covers a strange machine at the back. Blueprints are spread across the counter.

The handwriting seems to be some sort of symbol alphabet...or maybe it's just the handwriting. The illustration suggests that...it's blueprints for the DT extractor in the True Lab. Now, I also notice that a bag of dog food is leaning against the machine.

Wasn't... Isn't that the dog food from Sam's lab...?

I decide to check the drawers to obtain more information.

There's several badges in the drawer. Out of all of them, a few stand out.

"Intern". "Royal Scientist". And the Delta Rune.

Huh.

In the second drawer is a photo album. I flick through it. There's a lot of pictures of Impact with people I don't recognise.

...There's also a picture of him and Sam, smiling and posing for the camera. Seems it's a selfie taken by Sam. They seem happy, and their lab coats look brand new....

"...Impact was a scientist?" Luke comments.

A piece of card sticks out the back flap of the binder.

It's a poorly drawn picture of three smiling people. On it are the words...

"Don't Forget."

With that, I decide to leave Impact's past alone, and go back to Hotland by foot.

...It's taking longer than I thought it would.

I notice that Gúidea has sent me a few messages.

"Hello Tyler! Sam upgraded my phone. I am having fun with this new 'texting' feature! L-O-L!
