I walk back with the tainted drink and Louis just looks at it strangely. “Looks rather flat, wouldn’t you say?” Louis commented. I smiled wide as I can see he wasn’t noticing what he was about to drink. I could Sarah’s expression lit up and I think she also knows that this is not a coke he’s about to drink.
“Why, yes, quite flat,” I imitated in my fake British accent. I must say it has improved drastically hanging out with the goofballs all the time, but it’s still horrible which is why everyone starts laughing obnoxiously.
“What was that? A British Accent?” Louis caterwauled. “You don’t know the half of it.”
“Oi! She’s better than me. If I tried to do that, who knows how bad it’d be,” Niall protested.
“Now, that’s true, mate,” Louis mused. Louis took a sip of his drink and spat out his sip instantly. Sarah, Cara, and I just start rolling at his taste. “That is definitely NOT a fizzy drink. I don’t even know what that was. Super sugary whatever this is.”
“It’s called sweet tea. I drink it all the time when I’m here,” Sarah retorted.
“Sweet Tea, eh?” Louis said seriously. “What’s going on here? Are you all trying to convert me here? I like my tea hot with cream, thank you.”
“Come on, just give it a chance,” I whined. “You might actually like it.”
“It’s called being open-minded,” Sarah teased. “Let your mind be blown away!” Cara was just laughing at our craziness.
“It’s really quite nice,” Liam mused. “It was only beverage available at Sarah’s house, so I learned to like it,”
“Never had it,” Zayn said, “And I’m not really interested in trying it.”
“Aw, come on, guys. Accept the southern ways,” I said.
“Now, you’re just being ridiculous,” Niall poked me and I giggled as quietly as I could when he did that. Louis took another sip reluctantly and made a strange face.
“I suppose if I drank it enough, I could get used to it,” Louis said indifferently. “It’s not terrible, it’s just unusual.”
Both Sarah and I did a happy clap after his remark in unison. Louis rolled his eyes at us again after his remark. The rest of the conversations at the table were trivial. Ranging from rumors of these things called “functions” these clubs have at the end of the semester. Our club hasn’t said anything about a “function” so I will be curious to see when I have one.
Also on the list of strange topics included Doctor Who, why we should all be broadcast journalism majors (according to Louis), and science jokes provided by yours truly, Liam, and Sarah. No one else got the jokes, but us three so we kept rolling them. “You know bad Harry’s puns were?” I asked them randomly. They shook their heads.
“They were so bad, they were like pi! Never ending!” I joked. Instantaneously, everyone had a flabbergasted look on their face and started laughing their heads off. Even though we were all done, we just stayed there laughing over that last joke. Finally, after a minute, everyone start taking slow breaths and slowing their heart rate down.
“Anyone down for ice cream?” Louis asked us.
“Would be so kind to get me something?” I asked fluttering my eyelashes several dozen times smiling in his direction.
