It seemed that they took a break, since all of them were seated at the benches, and I assume that at the moment Koshino entered inside, the team just stopped the game which gave Coach Taoka more of the time and chance to be mad at him.
I planned that once I got my bag in the bench where some of Sendoh's basketball teammates were currently sitting, I will go home already and won't wait for Sendoh, since it looks like this practice won't end sooner.
That idea might be really impossible right now, since from what I'm seeing, Sendoh was currently asking his teammates if they've seen me. He was sitting beside my bag, so that must've been the reason why he placed his towel beside me before their game started. I started to walk nonchalantly towards his direction, as if nothing happened. Bear in mind that my uniform's already colored brown, and the coffee's starting to dry, sticking to my skin. I also smelled like french vanilla, which may be the coffee's flavor.
He was wiping the trickling sweat that traces down his neck and forehead with the towel, and he looked at me when he sensed that I was near; then he suddenly bolted up, face in shock.
"Ahh! Aya- oh. Whoah, what happened?"
"Just.. Some idiotic klutz tripped and the coffee she was drinking spilled on me."
I looked at Koshino after saying that, and he was biting his upper lip, brows knitted together, controlling himself from telling the truth.
All of his teammates were looking at me, and I bet they were internally processing different theories on what possibly happened, maybe even asking themselves who I really were for Sendoh to be so concerned, since I haven't introduced myself properly to them yet.
I bowed in front of them, apologizing.
"I am sorry to cause this commotion." after saying that I looked up, "You see, I'm Sendoh's friend..."
This was my first time admitting that I was a friend of someone.
"I'm Ayane. Nice to meet you all, I'm terribly sorry for this again."
The moment I said Ayane, their mouths turn agape, and Coach Taoka cleared his throat loudly, for them to close them back again.
There goes my first impression down the gutter.
Sendoh's friend from another school smells like coffee and her hair's all sticky and her clothes are dirty. She's weird.
Oh, God.
"I have to go home now." I said after I bowed again, then swinging the strap of my backpack over my shoulder I was about and ready to go, when Sendoh stood in front of me with a folded white t-shirt and a new towel in his hands.
"No, you're not going anywhere." He said, "You're coming with me."
