"How's trying out for captain going?" He laughed and then stood to his feet. He turned back and pulled me up with before grabbing his bag.

"Oh yeah, I made Captain." He informs me. He chooses to ignore my shocked face and stands from his spot.

"Get the fuck out!" I stand and pull him back once I'm to my feet and crush myself to him.

"Congratulations Reggie!" I yell in his ear. "I'm sorry, I'm putting my problems on you and ignoring your great news." I whispered to him. He only shakes his head and pulls away from me smiling.

"It's okay, let's go." And we walked back off to the school. Hands tangled in each other's.

I take a deep calming breath before pushing open the door that hid Josie, Melody and Veronica now. I step in making them turn to me, Melody throws a regretful look my way while Josie only smirks at me.

"So, that's how you play now Josie?" I ask her. Veronica looks in between us both as we keep our heated expressions on each other. Josie chuckles lightly and walks over to me.

"You were the one that quit, so I had no choice."

"I know I quit, and you did have a choice-"

"Oh, really what was that?"

"To understand how unreasonable and mean you were being." I snap at her. Melody and Veronica only watch us warily. Josie rolls her eyes at me befroe speaking.

"Look, this is business-"

"No, the Pussycats was our friendship, if the Pussycats never happened we'd still be those four girls the only talked to each other a couple of times at Power Records, our friendship grew because of the Pussycats, so no it isn't just business!"

"I think, maybe it's best that I leave." Veronica trails off after my outburst.

"No, stay, practice with them, after all you have a big performance coming up." I throw my hand up to stop her. "Have fun breaking in your new Pussycat, Josie."

I turn on my heels and walk out quickly into the hall. I push my way through the flood of students who are eager to get home. I wasn't angry anymore, I felt like going home and forgetting everything. I pulled my phone from my pocket to let Reggie know I was on my way to his car. He had previously brought me back to get my car before offering to drive me to school this whole week. He answered letting me know he was on his way and I leaned against the car heavily as I let out a breath.

In some way I felt like I was overreacting, but then I remembered how much the Pussycats meant to me and how much I loved it. For the the life of me I can't figure out why Josie has ben acting this way. She was usually strict with different things, but it was never like this.

"Gem?" A voice calls bringing me from my thoughts.

"Gem?" Reggie calls again and waves his hand in front of my face. I shake my head and look at him.

"What's on your mind?" He asks.

"Nothing, I talked Josie that's all." I answer him as we both slide into our seats. He starts the car and leaves the school.

"You know, it'd be pretty cool if you came to the Variety Show with me." He suggests. I smile a little and turn to him in question.

"Reggie, are you asking me out?"

"What, uh n-no." He chuckles  from his spot as he takes a turn to get to my house. I nod silently with the information trying to not let my disappointment show on my face.
