I tried to set aside all the anxiety I had in me because I only had 6 hours to prepare everything.
My plan? I planned to cook for her, cook all her favorite foods. That would take me a couple of hours. I also had to pick up the flowers and balloons I have pre-ordered to set it all up in the condo.
And I had to talk to someone.
I had to talk to Dennise.
I was already in my unit with the flowers and balloons when my phone rang.
It was Dennise.
My heart started pounding and my hand started shaking as I struggled to pick up the phone.
Damn. I really was planning to talk to her and maybe the universe heard it and decided to pick up the pace.
"H-hello?" I stuttered.
"Ly."
Shit. That voice. Her voice. I missed it.
"Can we talk?" she followed, hesitantly.
I gulped.
"O-of course. I was planning to talk to you today din talaga," I admitted nervously.
There was a long pause. No one seemed to plan to break it so I did.
"I just have a few things I have to do then kita tayo?"
"Sure."
She told me to meet her in our favorite restaurant, the one where we broke up, the one where Mika blackmailed me.
I laughed at how absurd this all was. Is this what people call full circle?
In any case, I once again set aside thoughts about Den, thoughts that are not necessary to what I had to do.
After setting up the place and cooking (I planned to heat it up after talking to Den), I made my way to the restaurant. I was the first one to arrive. And yes, we were once again seated to our usual table.
I was fidgeting all throughout as I waited for Den. I was so absorbed in my own thoughts that I almost had a heart attack when she sat down in front of me and said hi.
"H-hi," I greeted back nervously.
I stared at her.
She was still beautiful. Her eyebrows that were always on fleek, her expressive eyes that always showed her emotions, her nose that scrunches up when she dislikes something, and her lips that turn into a bright smile - every part of her brought back memories and feelings I guessed was always there.
She still made my heart race.
"Should we order first?" she said, bringing me back to the present.
I nodded.
We gave our orders and everything was quiet. I didn't know what to say.
"How are you?" she asked softly.
I looked at her and when our eyes met, every important memories we shared flashed before my eyes. I smiled in nostalgia.
"I'm okay. You?" I answered shortly.
"I'm fine, too. Thank you."
Silence. Once again.
I wanted to know more. I wanted to know if she was happy with LA or if she regretted leaving. I wanted to know if she wanted to talk to me today because the three-month rule was over and she didn't want to set me free - if she wanted me back.
