Vicki read the comment, licking her lips nervously.

Piper had help. I can prove it!

Audrey stayed silent, clearly also shocked by the news. A few awkward moments passed before they started to head indoors, no one really talking. Noah was too happy to talk, Vicki was too worried and Audrey almost seemed angry. No one spoke a word until they found the rest of the gang.

"Ah!" Noah called when he spotted the rest of his friends "What up, my Lakewood Sixers!"

The term had first come about right after the great final battle. Vicki was sadly not really considered one of the "six" as she had spent the whole night almost drowning, and then actually drowning instead of being a badass like everyone else. Although at times it made her feel excluded she was glad she didn't get the negative backlash that her friends faced. However, with the strange encounter with her phone, it seemed that it was finally coming for her.

"Though, technically, there are only five of us at the moment" Noah corrected.

"Ahem" Vicki coughed loudly, Noah looking towards her in confusion "No, go on. Keep ignoring my existence, that's fine"

"Look, I know Jake has probably been spilling trash about me since we broke up, and you can just tell me about it" Brooke glossed over the ginger's sass, gesticulating with her hands slightly.

Vicki watched as everyone shook their heads, the thick feeling in her stomach growing larger. The last time she had spoke to Jake was at Emma's welcoming home party, in fact she hadn't seen him since then.

"What?" Brooke raised an eyebrow "No one's talked to him since...since we, like, broke up?"

"Probably part of his bold plan to make you suffer" Audrey suggested.

"One day is obnoxious and bold" Brooke shook her head "Two days is obnoxious and weird"

"Looks like it's working"

"Come on, it's Jake" Noah tried to brighten the mood "He faked mono for a week to get out of midterms"

"His parents are in Mexico" Kieran added "Maybe he's just laying low at home"

"Brooke, have you tried texting him?" Emma asked.

"Please" the blond laughed "Every Cosmo girl knows the guy is supposed to be the one to break the text standoff"

"Wow" Audrey stared at the girl with slight disappointment "So modern"

Before she could give any more sarcastic comments her phone started to vibrate loudly. Slowly the group broke away, walking off to their respected classes, Vicki and Noah hovering about.

"Are you okay?" Vicki touched Audrey's arm, noticing the way she was glaring Hayley from across the hall.

She didn't respond, striding away. Vicki sent one fearful look towards Noah before going to follow after her.

"I wouldn't" the boy stopped her, clasping her shoulder gently "I'm sure she'll be right back"

True to his prediction, Audrey ran down the stairs back to them a mere two minutes later. She looked paler than normal, her face contorted in fear.
