"Don't make me seem so noble," Eden chuckled, "All it was, was a lot of killing. Let's get away from the topic."
"I think I might be able to do that," I sighed, getting a text, "Possible werewolf attack."
"Did Mick order us to take it?" Dean said.
"No," I replied, "He told us about it. It's up to us whether to do it or not."
This is how it had been the since Dean had found out about my working with the British Men of Letters. Every time I got a case, he would get cranky. Eden didn't seem to mind though, which was good. Maddicus, however was new to the topic.
"Who's Mick?" Maddicus questioned, sitting up in interest.
"He's the head of his unit for the British Men of Letters," I explained.
"Which is..." He tempted.
"Centuries old organization dedicated to killing monsters," I ended, "Although we have some bad blood with them."
"Sounds repetitive," He sighed, petting Pippy, who was lying on his lap.
"Sam," Eden whined.
"Yeah?" I asked, turning to her.
"Let's go," She prompted, "I'm bored."
"You're sick," I reminded her, "We can go without you."
"You could," She said, "But you're not."
"I wouldn't fight with her," Maddicus chimed in.
"Yeah," I agreed, "We've figured that much out."
I stood up, pulling Eden up after me. She did look sick, but I knew she'd get her way either way. Dean and Maddicus stood up Pippy whining as she slid onto the couch.
"Pippy," Eden called, getting a bark in response, "Are you going to be alright by yourself?"
"You know," Maddicus started, "If we got Alvis, she wouldn't be alone."
"Alvis as in your hellhound?" Dean coughed, "Last time she dealt with a hellhound, her leg got broke."
"Yes and the last time I dealt with a human, they ate a forbidden apple," Maddicus scoffed, "A lot changes from generation to generation."
"Alright, let's go," Eden urged, also sensing an argument forming between the two.
She filled Pippy's automatic feeder and water that we had gotten for her with a bunch of other stuff. Maddicus walked over to the main table, sitting down and reading a newspaper.
"What are you doing?" Eden asked.
"I'll stay with Pippy for a while," He responded, "I don't want to be stuck in the car and I can just teleport over there."
He could see the question forming in my mind as he took a sip of tea, which I had no idea where he got it.
"Eden can't do things like that because she didn't gain her powers back by not to good means," He said.
"Enough chatting," Eden pushed me into the garage, "Bye Maddy, bye Pippy!"
We were about halfway there when I got a call.
"Sam?" Mick's voice rang out.
"Mick," I answered hesitantly.
"I just wanted to call you to let you know that I'll be joining you on the hunt," He said, "I need more experience. I'll text you the hotel."
Before I could say anything he hung up. I sighed, looking to Dean.
"Mick's going to be joining us," I explained.
