‘’how does it feel to be… one of us?’’ he said moved his eyebrows up and down.

‘’I think this not the right time to talk about that, Jason’’ and I looked away towards my dad.

He was laying there on the ground and didn’t move. I pulled my mom away and stood up. She gasped and I move forward, but Jason hold me back. My eyes looked at him and he nodded towards my dad. I followed his look and saw Allen standing in front of him. He kneed down and touched my dad.

My stomach started to hurt and a lump formed in my throat. Why wasn’t he moving? Why was he laying there? What is Allen doing? He stood up and reached for his phone. He dialed a number and started to talk. I could hear him faintly say:

‘’can you please sent an ambulance to….’’

Everything around me started to fade away. His voice, my mom’s crying… they were all fading away but my heart was beating in my ear. I felt the ground disappearing under my feet. What is wrong with him and why was Allen calling an ambulance? I notes that Layla was making the way clear to our house. It didn’t take long for the paramedics to come and took my father to the hospital.

Later that day we got to hear that my dad was lying in a coma. They don’t know when or if he will wake up. My mom burst in to tears but I wanted to stay strong. I let my mom alone with my father in his room and walked to the other, who was waiting in the hall. Before walking to them I took a deep breath and stepped away from the corner.

‘’And what did they say?’’ Anna asked me and took my hand.

I placed a sad smile on my face. ‘’he is in a coma and they don’t know if he will ever wake up again’’ I looked away because I couldn’t bear to look them in the eyes. I knew if did that I would start to cry.

‘’where is Allen?’’ I said as I looked up so see him.

‘’he is outside. On the roof’’ Jason said and pointed up.

‘’are you sure you are alright?’’ Ian asked me and took a step closer.

‘’no I’m okay.’’ I lied. ‘’ I’m going to find Allen!’’ I said, turned around and walked for the elevator. I pressed the button and the door opened. A nurse with an old lady in a wheelchair walked out. They both nodded to me and I nodded back before entering the elevator. I pressed the button for the last floor and the doors closed. Once up there I had to climb a staircase to reach the roof. I opened the door and saw that I was already dark.

I had totally forgotten that I was a vampire now and that mu senses were sharper. All the things around me were sharp and clear to see. Every sound and noise I could hear from miles away. Every sent in the air, could I smell. It was somehow a good and wonderful feeling. But I didn’t let it sink in. My mind was with my mom and dad. I looked around and spotted Allen hanging over the railing. He notes me and turned around.

‘’Sky…’’ he said. ‘’what are you doing here? Should you not be with your family?’’

‘’maybe… but right now… I need you, Allen’’ I couldn’t hold back my tears and started to cry. ‘’I need you right now! I don’t know what to do anymore! It feels like I’m lost!’’ I sobbed.

It didn’t take him long and he pulled me in a hug. He rested his head on mine and brushed my hair with his hand. My face was buried in his chest and I sniffed up his smell. it felt so safe to be in his strong arms.

‘’it’s okay.’’ He whispered calm. ‘’you can cry all you want. I will always be here for you, Sky.’’

With those words I let the tears steam out of my eyes, without stopping. He pressed me closer to his body and kissed me on the head. The only sound I could hear now was his peaceful heartbeat and my sobs.
