Never Leave My Side (Chapter Thirty-Four)

“Thanks. Love you, mum." 

“I love you too, baby." 

I heard her talking as I waited for Sapphire to come on the phone. I looked around the hallway before sitting down next to our door and leaning against the wall. 

“Hey you." Sapphire's voice came seconds later. 

“Hello beautiful." I smiled. God I miss her so much. 

“How are you?" She asked. 

“Exhausted. It's been a long day." I sighed. “What about you? How was shopping with Danielle?" 

“Oh. It was something. We had a good time, but I never knew how tiring it could be." I heard her let out a deep sigh. “Now I see why the boys don't like to go shopping. It's exhausting." 

I chuckled and leaned my head back. “So, I saw a fan today... Well, lots of them, but this one stood out." 

“Oh yeah?" She asked. “What was so different about her?" 

A smile came to my face. “I don't actually know if it was a girl or boy, but it had four blades instead of five, like most fans." 

“Oh my gosh, Ni." She began laughing. “Do you get your jokes from Harry?" She asked still laughing. 

I smiled wider. “No. I actually just thought of it." 

“Well I'm proud of you. That was good." She said laughing again. 

“Thank you." I chuckled with her. “Really though." I said seriously. “I did see a fan today. She wanted me to tell you that you're beautiful." I smiled. 

“Really? She said that?" She asked, surprise in her voice. 

“Don't act surprised." I laughed at her. “She wasn't wrong. You are beautiful." 

“I wasn't acting. I was actually surprised. But thank you, again." I heard the smile in her voice. 

We spoke for another half hour before saying our goodbyes. 

I took the key from my pocket to unlock the door when I felt someone's eyes on me. I turned my head to see a young girl stood next to the lifts with her mum watching me, with a small smile on her face.

“Mummy look." She pulled on her mum's sleeve gently and pointed in my direction. 

Her mum looked over at me and gave a light smile. “I'm sorry." She said before taking her daughters hand. 

“It's okay." I said to them. I walked closer to them and bent down to the younger girls height. “Hey there, Princess. What's your name?" 

“Um... Anna." She said shyly.

I smiled and held my hand out to her. “Well, hello, Princess Anna. It's nice to meet you. I'm Niall."

She shook my hand, giggling. “I know. You're my favorite person in the world." 

“In the world?" I asked, she nodded. “The whole entire world?" 

“Yes." She giggled.

“Even more than the aliens?" I asked seriously. 

She laughed loudly. “Yeah. Just not more than my mummy. I love her more." She smiled up at her mum. 

“Good. My mum is my number one too." I smiled. 

“But I get to be second, right?" She asked excited. 

I grinned at her. “Of course. You're Princess Anna."

The lift doors opened as she giggled and threw her arms around me once more. “Bye-bye, Niall." She sighed as she took her mum's hand again and stepped onto the lift. 

“Bye-bye, Princess." I waved as the doors closed. 

“Well, that was fun." 

I smiled to myself as I unlocked the hotel room door and stepped in, quietly shutting the door behind me. 

I kicked off my shoes and flopped down on my bed. “You okay, Niall?" Zayn's voice came from the other bed. 

I took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Yeah, just really tired. Sorry if I woke you when I came in." 

I turned my head as he sat up. “Nah. I was already awake. I can't really sleep." He sighed. “I think I'll go take a nice hot shower. Maybe go for a walk around the hotel." 

I sat up, looking at him. “Are you okay?" I asked concerned. 

He nodded a few times and stood up. “Yeah. Just have a few things on my mind." 

“Do you want to talk about?" 

He gave me a small smile but shook his head. “You just get some sleep. Maybe we can talk about it later. Thanks though."

I nodded as he walked into the bathroom and shut the door. I closed my eyes when I heard the shower turn on. Chuckling sleepily as Zayn began to sing to himself in the shower, until I fell asleep.
