“Dude, I have to come back! I can’t let Penny take all this!” I heard springs on his side, indicating that he had gotten up.
“NO! You’ll throw everything off balance. You can come when I get her to come back home with me, but right now I think if she saw you she wouldn’t know how to deal with it.” I practically command.
I wanted Mason to come and make this right again, but it wasn’t the time for that. Besides, I still had to woo Penny and explain all of this to her. Quinn coming back would screw up the order of events that needed to happen in a timely manner.
“I’m just telling you that you need to be more careful. I don’t understand how you never realized Penny was the type of girl to hide her pain.” I shook my head, kissing the picture of Penny, softly.
“Quinn, I have to go. We’ve got a meeting with your dad in a little bit. Please find a way to tell Penny that I’m sorry.” He apologized.
I let him hang up, even though I wasn’t done yelling at him. He still had his duties to do as the pack leader now.
I sighed, as I went to my bedroom and lay down on my bed.
“Why do you have to be so perfect?” I asked the picture in my hand, shaking my head.

It’s been a little over two months since Penny’s confessed what Sandra did to her. Sandra has been almost nonexistent in school. Penny and I almost never saw her anymore, which was perfect for me and I assume her too. I was just glad I’d solved this problem.
Penny and I have fallen into a routine of sorts. In the morning, I pick her up from her house, at the same time every day. She’s usually waiting right outside her door for me, because she says she hates making me wait. She gets into my car, gives me one of her cute smiles and we go to school. We go through our classes, while I attempt to make her laugh and smile as much as I can. They say that the key to a girl’s heart is laughter.
For lunch, we either eat here or we go somewhere. Penny hardly eats lunch and whenever I try to pay for her, she refuses. I guess I can never go on a date with her officially because she’s adamant to never allow me to pay.
At the end of the day, I ask her if she would like a ride home. She usually accepts with a thank you, and if not I ask if she can tutor me. I think she’s caught on to what I do, because she smiles whenever I ask. Some days though, she heads to the library or bookstore because she needs a particular book. Occasionally I accompany her, but I can’t always find an excuse, so I let her walk there. I text her once I get home and ask her to do the same and we text about random things throughout the rest of the day until Penny falls asleep.
What Penelope doesn’t know, is that on the weekends, I go over to her house and watch her from the window sometimes. I know it sounds extremely creepy but I can’t handle more than 24 hours without her. Sometimes I ask if she wants to hang out and then I don’t need to creep at night but when she has stuff to do I have to get my daily dose of Penny. She’s become almost addicting. I only watch her for a little bit, not the entire night.
I thought we had a great system and it was really going for us. I wasn’t entirely satisfied though, because she viewed me like a brother or friend, which is why she was so comfortable with me. I know I had asked her to before, but now I wasn’t happy with only that. I wanted her to view me as boyfriend material at least, if not husband material. I had idea about how to go about doing it and my method might not have been the best one, but I figured I could at least give it a shot.
One day, the morning of when I was going to ask her, I bought her some red roses, without the thorns of course. As soon as she sits down in my car, I give her a big smile and hand her one of the roses. She looks at me inquisitively before taking the rose from my hand.
