Oh forget it. It's useless.
Back to present.
"I need more ice cream. But am all out on cash." I whined, pouting at my empty cup and talking to no one in particular.
"Here is a $20. Go get two cups if you like." David handed me a clean long straight 20 dollar bill.
I mean, that was way to much for ice cream but the change. Think of all the things I could do with the change. I could get that new $7 dollar face cap I always wanted. Ha!
I took the money with the speed of lightning and smiled. You know, just before he had a change of heart. I beamed.
"Thank you Dee!"
He just smiled. Gesturing with his hand how little it was. "Oh its nothing."
Oh Really?
Thank the heavens that I was sitting right beside him and I could see his wallet that was inside his pocket. So I did what every absolutely normal person would do.
I grabbed the wallet ,opened it, leaning away and moving to my left and right very fast so that David wouldn't get the wallet from me.
Okay, scratch that, I was not normal, so definitely, my actions were absolutely not normal either.
I opened it.
Lo and behold.
Wads of 100 dollar notes.
Wads people, wads.
This was a blessing!
I took out a single $100 bill. This, would change a few things in my wardrobe. I tossed Dave his wallet back and sat down beside his gaping mouth pretending nothing out of the normal just happened. David stared at me still shocked at how fast he just lost hundred bucks.
"Well, this right here is something then." I held up the money for him to see. He tried to take it from me but I was too fast. It went into my purse.
"Okay, I didn't even expect you to accept the $20 and even when I said it was nothing, I didn't mean those words literally. You my friend, are something." David finally gave up.
I chuckled and asked him to escort me to get my ice cream.
"That would be $100 for my escorting services." David beamed.
"Nice try. But not happening."
He pouted and refused to be my escort.
Meanwhile Didi and Jess had been strategizing. Why they were doing that, I didn't know but forming tactics was one thing I knew I wasn't cut out for.
God help my soul.
I moved to the counter to place my order.
"Hello. Please I'd like one cup of vanilla ice cream with caramel topping." I placed my order to the beaming worker.
"Make that two cups. Its on me. I'll have one on the go please." A familiar voice called out behind me.
Free ice cream was definitely one of the best things I could get now.
Free ice cream from a weird creepy handsome stranger was definitely not one the best things I needed now.
"Oh he's bluffing. I'm paying for my ice cream." I politely smiled at the worker.
I felt his presence move from behind me to my right. He placed his arms on the counter and smirked.
"I am a big time regular and you don't want your manager to hear that I wasn't satisfied with your service. Or do you Cameron?" Shane asked the confused worker.
