2D smiled as he looked at the crowd. He could faintly hear the cheering and smiled widely as he sat down. "Good evening!" he could hear Murdoc yell and suppressed the urge to grin. The faint cheering of the crowd grew more frantic as 2D waved. "This show will be at best forty-five minutes to an hour long. We all hope you have the best time of your lives and let's begin!"

2D began to play as Noodle, Russel and Murdoc struck the first notes to Every Planet We Reach Is Dead. "I lost my leg, like I lost my way, so no loose ends. Nothing to see me down. How are we going to work this out?" he belted out, listening as the crowd began to sing along. This was the epitome of his life. The past thirty-seven years were nothing compared to this exact moment.

"Dreams aren't bad, I had turned back. I love the girl but God only knows it's getting hard, to see the sun coming through. I love you, but what are we going to do?" 2D's focus was entirely on playing keyboard, and the separate instruments in his earpiece. It helped him concentrate fully, but every once in awhile he would glance up and notice the faces of the various people. They were all sweating, a scene he was used to, but it made him happy.

"Picture I'm a dreamer, I'll take you deeper, down to the sleepy glow. Time~ is a low, don't you know. What are we going to do?"

How in the hell did Noodle - a once thirteen slash fourteen year old when Demon Days was first written - write songs about love and falling in love and rejection? What was she feeling? Who was she in love with? 2D knew he'd have to ask he eventually, maybe even after the show finished. "When you go back. All the second selfless days. You're in love with him. I want to see you again. I love you, but what are we going to do?"

2D played on, his eyes sometimes moving side to side and his gaze landing on both Noodle and Murdoc. At one point, he caught the bassist's eyes and swore he smirked at him and winked. When it'd happened again, 2D felt his face heat up and he smiled to himself. He felt happy.

After the song finished and the crowd cheered, 2D tapped on his microphone in order to calm them. "Um, nex' is a song tha' we've no' played live ye'. I's from the album D-Sides. M'pretty sure you've 'eard of 'ongkongaton?" he said, and his face lit up as the crowd began to practically scream.

There was silence as the song began, then as 2D began the song, the crowd began to clap softly along to each note. "Just fallin' out, not makin' much of anything at all but- all you could hide from what's there, in the past of it. Just fallin' out, not makin' much of anything at all but- all you could hide from what's there, in the past of it."

Then, it happened. "Just falling out. All you can't hide." The crowd, as if on cue, began to sing along. "All you can't hide. Just falling out. All you can't hide. All you can't hide." Then, a yell from 2D. "HONGKONGATON!" A cough from 2D - away from the microphone - and he continued to sing.

"Just fallin' out- not making much of anything at all. All you can't hide- from what's there in the past of it. Just fallin' out- not making much of anything at all. All you can't hide- from what's there in the past of it."

There were no cheers. There was no sound. Just the music and 2D singing. It was beautiful. You could feel what 2D was feeling. "Just fallin' out- not making much of anything at all. All you can't hide- from what's there in the past of it. All you can't hide- from what's there in the past of it. All you can't hide," 2D finished and the crowd erupted in cheering.

He grinned and coughed, covering it up by clearing his throat. He felt Murdoc's gaze on him and mouthed, "I'm fine, I promise," to the bassist, who nodded. "Nex' song 'asn't been played since 2001, so I 'ope you enjoy it. This is Slow Country."

The song played out smoothly and ended in the crowd basically screaming. 2D laughed and motioned for Murdoc to come to him. "I need ya t' take my iPad from my bag an' ge' i' t' me, alrigh'? I's over there," he said, pointing to a spot just behind the stage. Murdoc nodded and left, returning with the iPad. "You can jus' relax, since this song doesn' include bass or guita' or drums."
