2. The mark

"Lucy. My child! are you well?! mavis just told me about the second shield, you mustn't take that on-" Master started then looked at my wide eyes. "You did release the second one. My child, are you feeling well anything strange?" He asked. 

"Uh master I'm fine they were simple unlocking spells. weren't they?" I asked starting to get a worrying feeling bubble up inside of my gut. 

"they spell's them self-were, but the magic energy they took, was more than just the magic. it embedded some of the locking spells into your body. meaning if you do two in one day and they were different the two spells will fight and slowly take ahold of the mage that unlocked both of them. " Master says with a grim face. "there is no known cure for this. I'm sorry Lucy. just know that we will figure this out and help you." Master added. 

"But Master, it won't kill me right?" I asked worriedly. He shook his head, his face still grim. 

"It will lock you inside a crystal lock spell. your body will not age nor would you die. you would be in limbo until something outside happened that could kill you or let you live. if you think about it.  it's like ice shield that gray could use, but much harder to fix since whats coming is a crystal, not ice." He told me. My eyes started to water. 

"Master? how long does this take?" I asked my voice weary. 

"depends on how strong the mage is. You? it could take six months to a year. but the outcome is absolute. unless we find a cure before the you become a crystal." Master told me. I fell to my knees trying to take in what he told me. He took the book from my hands and put it on his old oak desk. 

"Please, master don't tell anyone else. just us and Porlyusica. Promise me, Master." I said once I grasp what was going on. He nodded, slowly as he saw me on the floor, a mess from the news. once I got my tears under control I thanked master then left for my apartment. Before I left Gramp's said he would pay my rent for the allotted time I had. He said it was the lest he could do.  When I got home I heard voices from inside. 

"Nastu! Happy!" I called angry slamming the door open. but stopped when I saw levy and Gajeel as well.  "Why are you all in my house when I wasn't here!?" I yelled. 

"Sorry bunny girl, flame brain beat me and shrimp here. I came since shortie couldn't shake the feeling something was off with you." Gajeel says with a scary face.

"OUT!" I yelled at Gajeel and he looked at me then, at levy as he left. 

"See ya latter shortie," he said them closed the door. 

"Levy I told you I'm fine. Go back home and get some sleep." I told her. 

"But lu you said I could read the new part of your novel when I wanted. and I would like to read it now." Levy says looking a little sad. 

"Nastu! get up!" Happy called pulling the pink heard dragon slayer off of my bed. 

"levy I will hand it to you tomorrow its late and you need sleep," I told her she looked down then nodded, with a wave she left. turning my gaze back to Happy and Nastu.

"You better get out of my bed," I told them, in a scary voice. they both jumped up off the bed and sat on the couch. I sighed.

"Luce? whats that on your neck?" Nastu asked looking closely at it. 

"Uh?! I don't know!" I kinda yelled, then stormed into my bath. 

"Hey Nastu she's acting weird... she never tells levy no." Happy stated. I looked into the mirror and gasped at the sight of my neck. a blue diamond shape started to appear on my neck. 

"Oh no. Gramp's what am I ganna do? Nastu, Ersa, Levy, Happy, they will work them selfs to death to find a cure for me. I know you, Porlysuica, and Mavis are already doing so." I whispered not knowing Nastu had put his ear up to the bathroom door. "Dad, mom... I won't even be able to see you when this curse, takes over. I will be eternally isolated from everyone I love. unable to die or live. I will miss out on everything. Nastu... I wish that... I didn't have to keep this from you, and the team." I added almost to my self. Sliding agents the door. I started to sob. 

"Hey, Luce!  Come on out!" Natsu yelled, "Or ima come in and get ya!" He added. I picked up my head. 

"Natsu you come in here and I will kick you out for a month!" I yelled half sobbing. Nastu looked at Happy and frowned. He opened the door fast and hard which made me fly away from it and into the cold bath water. 

"Natsu!?" I yelled. Nastu just walked right up to me and picked me up out of the water. 

"Luce you were crying. why?" He asked some with sadness in his tone.  "What do you not what me to know?" He kept asking. 

"Natsu stop okay. I'm alright and I uh... put on a fake tattoo that will last for a year. something I just picked up and forgot about it." I told him. Nastu looked at me like I hurt his feelings. 

"Luce I overheard some of your mumblings in there. So don't lie to me!" Nastu yelled holding me close. I was caught off guard by this. 

"N-Nastu let me go! I'm not lying I'm fine!' I yelled back getting out of his grasp I went into my room and packed a few clothing and the book I was writing.  "Nastu I'm going on a training mission. I will be back in... a few months." I told him and went back to the guild bags in hand.
