It was an infallible truth that his parents would accept them both. They may get a few questions (and some unpleasant ones too from the rest of the guys), but he wasn't sure about the Wolf pack. His one and only interaction had been with Duncan. Bryce, he'd seen through the camera feed, and he was not one to take things lightly. Liam, the other brother, he seemed okay, but McKenna had told him that he was beta. His job was to back their Alpha up without question. He hadn't met any of the others. He knew there were two sisters in law and another younger brother Roark. Creed didn't much feel like walking in to the unknown with McKenna, especially with the way they had left things.

Nate's rambling brought him back from his musings and his attention snapped from the million doubts in his head to the cheerful voice in his ear.

"I don t know how, but Colin of all Supers, managed to convince everybody else to stay over with the guise of reconnecting with family. I guess he caught on as soon as he heard your dad speak to Seraphine. Bryce wasn't too happy with the arrangement, but he shut up once Angelo made it an order."

He was silent a moment. "You know, I think Colin deliberately behaves like a fool so people would continue to underestimate him..." Nate's voice tapered and then he laughed. "Son of a bitch, he does!"

"I see your Vampire brains cells are finally working at full capacity." Creed mocked. He was surprised that Nate hadn't caught on sooner. After all, he'd spent most of his life with them since Lorena and Marco had adopted him.

"Guess it is." Nate agreed with a pleased snort. "Anyway, Bryce still isn't too happy about it but the others agreed so they're all staying for a couple of days."

"So everything is alright then? For now?" Creed confirmed.

"Yeah, so far so peaceful. Won't last though. You guys will liven things up for sure."

Creed could hear the laughter in his voice, the gentle teasing, but he chose not to respond. "How's Hope handling?" He asked, his eyes skimming over the clock and noting the time. McKenna had pulled her hair up into a ponytail and had silently come back and begun to pack. It was 7pm now.

In less than an hour, they would be returning home.

"Surprisingly, she didn't come inside with me.  Took Spike with her and went back to the club. Something about not testing the blab theory. But I figure it was more for herself than pot-butt."

He could tell that Nate was hyped up about the whole situation. He'd either just fed or he was just talking through his apprehension and indirectly passing it along to Creed. It wasn't unusual for Hope to run off in the middle of something important but after they'd spoken last night, he'd assumed she would be all gung-ho and set to stick her nose right in the middle of everything.

Creed was silent, and Nate seemed to think about something before saying, "Hey, it's not just Duncan, alright?"

"Not just Duncan what?" Creed sighed.

"Not just Duncan who's on your side, Creed. I spent some time with McKenna's brother Roark earlier and he's an alright guy. He seems open minded about everything going on. He asked about you after dinner...tried to figure out what kind of personality you were, but there was no heat in his questioning. Only curiosity. I actually felt bad listening to him speak about his sister and not be able to tell him that I saw her and she's perfectly fine."

Creed honestly didn't know what to say to that, so instead of responding, he said goodbye. "Look, we're almost set to leave. We'll see you in a bit, Nate."

"Sure, buddy."

Creed turned the phone off and left threw it on the couch. McKenna had likely heard the entire conversation since Nate loved his own voice so much. His eyes followed her reflection in the window and he found it somewhat soothing. He was about to go to her when he caught a bluish white flash in his peripheral and heard the answering thunder.  His mind switched from calm to erratic as he swiveled to stare outside again.
