Chapter 23

"But if you were alive then why not come forward" Kakashi choked out slowly

"Because it's irrelevant whether I had survived or not, but I suppose if you really want an answer.... The reason is because.. you ... let Rin die... Oh please relax and whats with that look Kakashi" He muttered out and I clenched my fists. He made a handsign and opened his eye like he had before and several large shuriken shot out at us again. Naruto blocked three of them but one made it past his guard. I could have put up a barrier, or summoned Kazuki.. I probably could have teleported us all away but at that instant the only thing I could think of was saving Kakashi and my body moved on its own like it had for so many years. Gai jumped out of the way but Kakashi was rooted to the spot with a look of fear on his face. I stepped in front of him and wrapped my arms around his torso

"Kakashi.. Please" I whispered right before I felt a stinging pain radiate from my back as one of the blades of the shuriken shot straight through my stomach and a bit into Kakashi's.

"Kakashi.. Don't let him affect you so much.. He is trying to destroy the world.. Freak out later" I mumbled into his shoulder

"S-sayuri?" Kakashi whispered coming out of the small stupor he was in and his eyes widened

"Sayuri" He said again but firmly this time as he broke us apart and reached around carefully pulling the shuriken out of my back

"Do your Hundred Healings" He said quickly but just as I put my hands in the sign I felt something grab me by the neck and pull me away from Kakashi.

"Sayuri!" Kakashi and Gai both yelled trying to grab at me as Obito pulled me away.

"I wonder Kakashi, how you would react if I took away the woman you loved, just like you did for me" Obito said gripping my throat tighter. I started to see black spots in my vision and scratched at the hand around my throat progressively getting weaker and weaker. Then suddenly the hand dropped me and I expected to hit the hard bloodstained ground beneath me but instead fell into strong arms as I gasped painfully for breath. I heard the sounds of fighting as my vision slowly came back but I saw Kakashi hovering over me looking frantic.

"I'm sorry Sayu your right I need to stop letting him get to me.. Freak out later" He said with a sad half smile and I nodded

"And I will be there to hug you when you are freaking out..just don't do it right now" I said raspily and I raised my hands and made the hand sign for my Hundred Healings, watching as the hole in my stomach slowly healed itself and the pain in my throat subside, then I felt it.. The most terrifying feeling that made me immediately sit up and almost bash my forehead against Kakashi's.

"What is it?" He asked getting ready to jump up and protect me but I stopped him grabbing his wrist

"Someone just through my kunai by the Village..Kakashi I think its the boys" I whispered looking at him

"Go, we can handle things here.. Keep them safe" He said simply and helped me up

"Are you sure?" I said looking around as Naruto and Obito battled

"Yes now go, keep our boys and yourself safe" He said calmly much different than how he had just been speaking a few minutes ago and I nodded

"Don't die" I whispered and he nodded as well. I quickly teleported to the kunai signature and landed in a fighting position expecting to see my boys but instead I saw a man that I had missed for so many years.

"Minato sensei!!" I yelled as I threw myself at him, he chuckled as he hugged me tightly and spun me around just like Naruto does when he is excited. I felt a few tears come down my cheeks as I held on to his shoulders for dear life
