Your stomach churned when hearing about that. Every time you heard about Haxus you would only remember the fear you felt when he looked upon you viscously. You honestly felt sick, but it wasn't like you were going to throw up. You were just. . .uneasy. You inhaled deeply and exhaled in just the same way, hoping to rid of that uneasy feeling.
"Despicable." You heard Allura murmur while crossing her arms and shaking her head.
"Hey, can we just change the subject." You say, unable to hear any more of the events that happened last night. Everyone looked at you with perplexed expressions.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Shiro asked you again.
"Yeah, what's going on with you?" Keith said in a lackluster tone but, something about his voice told you that there was some emotion behind what he said.
"Keith! Stop being so insensitive! You don't ask a girl that." Lance immediately said after Keith.
"Yeah, I'm fine. . .its just like Lance said, I'm tired of hearing about it too." You say, still trying to hide and dismiss what you really felt in the moment.
It's not that you didn't trust them, it's just that you don't want to burden them with your problems. You didn't want other people worrying about you if they didn't have too.
"Really guys. . .anyway, what's up?" You ask since the subject wasn't changed soon, you knew you would have to leave eventually.
"Oh. . .well, we were about to go to this retro arcade Pidge and Hunk told us about." Allura explained.
"Oh yeah, it's totally neat! You should come with us." What kind of harm could some mindless video gaming do? You hummed in an elated tone and nodded your head.
"Sure!" You say jubilantly, ready to forget the world for a few and just have some fun with friends.
"Awesome! Let's go!" Hunk cheers and leads the way, and soon everyone else including yourself follows behind. Well. . .at first. Just when everyone else was a few feet away from you, you had been pulled back by the arm. You looked back to see Allura, then down towards your wrist with a confused expression.
"Allura? Is everything-" but she shushed you before you could finish.
"Hush, I should be asking you. . ." She turned her head away from you. She seemed to be conflicted with something. But after a while, she turned back to you.
"We're you. . .involved with anything that had happened last night?" Allura asks as if she were on thin ice with you. She was careful with what she said, trying her best not to strike a nerve. You clenched your fist, the one Allura had ahold of and sighed.
"I was there when it happened—but I didn't do anything I swear!!" You pleaded, worried she would judge you.
"No! That's not what I'm implying, I just wanted to know what was bothering you, and. . .I had a feeling that had something to do with it." She paused for a second but soon her expression was plastered with a gentle smile.
"I'm glad you decided to trust me and tell me what's bothering you." She says as positively as possible for her.
"C'mon, lets go they've probably realized that we're gone by now," Allura says, still with a smile and rolled her eyes just a bit.
Eventually, you had smiled back and continued walking right beside her to get to the retro arcade in town. It was still light outside, it was after all a quarter past five, daylight savings time was in effect which meant longer days. However, you wanted to get back home before the sun began to set, you didn't want to run into any more trouble this week, or at all really. So, you urged Allura to quicken her pace to the arcade, so you would feel better faster.
