Chapter 9

"Kiera? "Mitsuru finally noticed me.

"I'm so sorry! "I yelled and quickly slammed the door shut and ran towards the stairs.

"Kiera-chan! "Fuuka screamed when I dropped to my knees, holding onto my chest due to the sharp pain. Not now! I shallower down a pill as fast as I could and leaned onto the wall, relaxed a bit.

"Kiera-chan! Are you okay? "Fuuka asked.

"I'm fine, it happens once in a while. Don't tell anyone. You promised. "I said to her, she quieted down afterwards. I rested for a while before I stood back up, putting away the pills. I stared at the floor, for some reasons, it happened more frequent now. Why though?

Not long after that, I saw Mitsuru and Aki walked out the room together. Aki's face still have a clear print of Mitsuru's hand, my best guess is Mitsuru was the first to snap out of it and she slapped Aki without thinking.

"Kiera....... I swear, nothing happened. "Mitsuru rushed towards me and explained. It's nice of her to do so as she knew that I have feelings for Aki, but...... She doesn't know that Aki had feelings for her and not me.

"It's okay, Mitsuru sempai. You don't have to explain to me....... It's not really my business anyway. "I gave her bitter smile.

"What? Kiera, what are you....... "I walked pass her to Aki before she could finish. I handed him some makeup.

"You may want to cover that or the others will question about it. "I said to him.

"Thanks, you're a lifesaver. "He thanked me with a smile and applied the makeup gently on his face as it still hurts. He even told me that Mitsuru can probably join the boxing team if she wanted to. I managed to act normal until the others joined us.

"Well, since we're all here. Let's face the shadow together. "Mitsuru suggested. And of course everyone agrees. At least I get to take part in the operation.

To my own luck, the shadow we faced is my specialty. It can't keep up to my speed at all and I always get a critical for it. We all get an extra turn thanks to me. I smiled as I like this feeling on getting depended on, only at times like this, I feel that I'm actually part of the team.

"Kiera, look out! "Fuuka warned, but it was too late. I was hit by a holy arrow and was charmed. I no longer controlling my body, at first only darkness appeared right before my eyes. It wasn't long before I heard voices, the kind of voices that I didn't want to hear again.

"Kiera! "Mitsuru was right before my eyes when I came back to it. The shadow laid dead behind her. My face are wet, tears kept rolling down from my eyes, body shivering in fear. The others had gathered around me, concerned. Suddenly, I felt my stomach turn. I quickly pushed Mitsuru away and threw up in the toilet. Yukari rubbed my back and supported me when my body fell limp. I was.......exhausted.

"You're alright? "She asked as she helped me out from the toilet.

"Yeah. "I said to her.

"What happened back there? "Junpei asked.

"At first the shadow charmed her, then it kinda ended up controlling her. "Fuuka explained in our heads.

"What did you see, Kiera? "Mitsuru asked while she checked for any other discomfort.

"....... Just something disturbing. I'm more worried that if I've hurt any of you. "I gave her a bitter smile.

"I gotta say, we underestimated you. The shadow seems to picked the right target. We can barely touch you, so we have no choice but to defeat the shadow first before we can snap you out of it. "Aki chuckled.

"Are you kidding me sempai? We nearly died. "Junpei shrugged.

"Hey, I told you haven't I? Kiera's strong. "They bickered among themselves. Judging from their argument, it seems that I've attacked not once or twice and they nearly lost because of me. But, they've accepted the fact that I'm strong.

Even so....... The uncomfortable feeling didn't subside. Everything that I've endured for the past ten years came back to me all at once. It's not a pleasant feeling at all. I pretended that I've returned to normal when I'm not. They can't know about that past, no one should.
