Yeri beamed, "Oh, thank you so much, Mrs. Jeon! It's wonderful to meet you, too! I'm Yeri. Well, you know that," she said with a small laugh.
Jungkook took Yeri's bags from her hands and set them by the stairs and put his hand behind her back, guiding her to the living room where his father and brother ended up waiting to meet her. "Well, now that you've met my Eomma, this is my Appa and nae keun hyeong, Jung Hyun. Appa, Jung Hyun, this is Yeri, nae yeojachingu."
They greeted her, bowing. "Annyeonghaseyo," they said in unison.
She waved, smiling. "Annyeonghaseyo."
"Come, Yeri, we have dinner ready on the table," Mrs. Jeon said, and they all walked to the dining room to eat. As they were sitting there, Jungkook's mother went on and on about him, telling Yeri everything from how cute he'd always been since he'd been little to how she always knew he'd be a singer starting from when he was little he would sing in the shower and it already sounded beautiful even when he'd been eight years old. Jungkook blushed, and Yeri held his hand under the table, smiling.
"Oh!" Mrs. Jeon exclaimed, and she got up from her seat. "How could I forget? I have all of these old pictures of him when he was young and his graduation pictures too! Excuse me while I go get them and bring them here to show you."
She walked out of the dining room and Jungkook shook his head, half-grinning. "I look horrible in my graduation pictures, Yeri. Just saying," he warned.
Yeri laughed. "I highly doubt it."
She brought them over, spreading them out on the free space there was on the table. Yeri stood up and walked over to her, standing next to her and looking at them, pointing to them and squealing, saying how cute they were.
"Eomma-ahh," Jungkook whined. "I hate those pictures, and you know that."
"Jungkook, they're adorable, though! How could you hate them?" Yeri said, glancing over at him before looking back at the pictures again.
"No. I have those God-awful highlights in all those pictures and I look like a little boy in those other ones before I graduated."
"Jeong-guk, don't use God's name in vain that way," Mrs. Jeon cut in, scolding him.
Jung Hyun got lots of entertainment out of the whole thing, smirking the whole time.
"Kookie, you're the cutest boy I've ever seen," Yeri gushed while still looking at the pictures.
"Oh, stop," he said, waving his hand and pretending to be all bashful and shy. They all laughed with him.
At the end of the night, Yeri waited upstairs for Jungkook while he asked his parents if she could stay over. She picked up the frame beside his bed and looked at the picture, smiling. It was a picture of him as a baby, and she swore he was the cutest baby she'd ever seen before.
Jungkook walked in, seeing her with the picture in her hand, and commented, "I don't know why I still have that in here. My Eomma says my future kid will look like that and she wants it to be a reminder to me, but she was just joking. She's just making up an excuse to see it every time she dusts my room while I'm gone." He sighed. "Oh, and they said you can stay tonight. Just not in my bed, obviously."
Yeri laughed. "Yes, of course. You think I don't know that, JK?"
He smiled. "I know you know that. They wanted to make sure I told you." He cleared his throat. "So, where do you want to sit? Downstairs?"
"Sure. I'm fine with anything."
"Really? Wait. Let's watch a movie."
Yeri nodded, and they made their way downstairs, Jungkook hopping onto the couch and patting the area of the cushion next to him. "Come sit, jagiya."
She jumped onto the couch next to him, nestling herself between his arm and his torso as he used his other hand to pick up the remote to turn on the TV. "What do you want to watch? An action movie? A mystery movie?"
".....a romance movie?" she suggested gently, and he smiled.
"Oh, no....."
"Please, Jungkookie?"
"Yah, yah, sure. Request a specific one to me."
"I'm not sure of a specific one. Go under the romance category and look."
Jungkook scrolled and scrolled until Yeri told him to stop, and he paused on the one she said.
"That one. But it's okay, we don't have to watch a romance movie, it's okay. We can save that for another time."
"No, lets watch it. It's alright, Yeri-ah, I was just joking."
She eyes him suspiciously, but he just grinned and hit play and cuddled up close with her, putting his hand over her head and holding it steady to his chest so she didn't have to hold her head up herself. "You can relax, I'll hold your head up," he told her, kissing the top of her head.
She put her arm over his middle, shifting a little to get more comfortable, and the movie started, and immediately she was immersed. In the middle of the movie, he tapped her and asked her if she wanted anything, but she just shook her head, keeping her eyes on the screen. "No thank you."
When he walked back in from the kitchen with his glass of water and one for her just in case she wanted it at any point, he walked in as an inappropriate scene started, and he sat down stiffly and uncomfortable, not wanting to look at Yeri or say anything. He cringed and slowly reached for the remote and skipped the scene. "This is terrible. I knew if we watched an American movie like this it would have that in it."
"It's alright, Jungkook. Let's just watch the rest and if anything happens again we can skip it again."
He nodded, still uncomfortable. That was the first time he'd watched anything with a scene like that around her since they'd been together. It felt weird, especially since they were so innocent themselves. And there weren't a lot of Korean movies he'd seen with that in it, either. It was pretty rare in general, actually.
He laid back again, and Yeri snaked her arm over his torso again, but accidentally felt his abs while she did it. Then, purposely, she felt his muscles there with her hand. "Oh my gosh, Jungkook. Your abs are rock-hard."
He blushed, grabbing her hand and holding it in his. "Stop it," he said, smiling.
"Aw, Jungkookie's shy," she teased, squeezing his cheeks together. He laughed. "You should sleep with your shirt off tonight," she joked.
"Yah, yah, yah..... that's what I would do if I was trying to seduce you, and that's not what I'm trying to do tonight."
Yeri bursted our laughing, clapping. She sighed, trying to wind down. "Oppa-ahh," she dragged out the word, then continuing to laugh hysterically, rolling around on the cushion beside him.
He laughed, fake-smacking her arm. "Stop it, Yerimie!"
He leaned over her, trapping her under him and started kissing her over and over. She laughed, pushing him off. "Jungkook!"
Jung Hyun walked in on them as Jungkook started to kiss her again, smiling as he kissed her several more times. Yeri couldn't stop laughing.
"I can't keep kissing you while I'm laughing!" she said, continuing to giggle. "Jungkook-ah," she said in between kisses, "Yah. Yah, stop!" she said, still laughing.
They weren't even aware of Jung Hyun, so he just walked up the stairs to his room anyway, shaking his head. He was jealous and he couldn't help it. All the girls wanted Jungkook, and he was the cuter one, the sweeter one, the affectionate one, the famous one. And he loved his brother, but sometimes he hated that about him. He was glad for him, but not. He was angry and frustrated that he always got his way.
And he also was angry and frustrated and annoyed that he himself almost never got his way.
