Narinig kong sabi ni Professor Lopez habang nakamasid ako sa paligid. Maraming personnels na nakaputing uniporme ang nagpapalakad-lakad sa paligid, pawang abala sa kanilang mga ginagawa. White walls lined the surroundings and metallic dividers were neatly in place. Tinapik ni Professor Lopez ang balikat ko at tumawa. "I'll give you a tour of this place. For now, Dr. Benitez awaits us in his office."

Sinundan ang propesor patungo sa West wing ng gusali. Nang lumiko kami sa isang pasilyo, sumalubong sa amin ang mga opisina at work stations na hinihiwalay ng malalaking salamin. I saw a glimpse of the other scientists dealing with chemicals and doing paperworks. Napakalawak nung lugar, and I honestly think it looked like some kind of maze.

We went towards a lone door at the end of the hall. Professor Lopez clumsily knocked before proceeding inside. Tahimik lang akong sumunod sa kanya.

There, we saw a man, probably in his midforties, wearing a laboratory coat while reading a book. Sinilip ko ang nakasulat sa bronze nameplate na nakapatong sa kanyang mesa. Dr. Albert Benitez, Head Scientist of ESO. Nang makita niya kami, agad niyang tinanggal ang reading glasses niya at nakipagkamay sa akin.

"You must be the teenage genius Professor Lopez was telling me about. Levi, right?"

I smiled. See? Everyone knows I'm a fucking genius! "Yes, sir!"

Tumawa si Dr. Benitez at inilahad ang kanyang palad. "Lopez had already told me about the Paranometer, but still, I would like to hear it from you. Would you mind presenting me your invention over a cup of tea?"

Kanina lang, ipinaalis ni Dr. Benitez ang manikang sinapian ng kung anuman. He ordered the personnel to burn the doll in the fire chamber.

Nagkibit ng balikat si Professor Lopez, "Someone just dropped that at the entrance the other day. I knew it would come in handy."

Weird.

Like what Professor Lopez promised, he gave me a tour around the compound. Hindi na ako makapaghintay na simulan ang trabaho ko dito bukas!

But as we walked down the corridors, I noticed a particular group of scientists inside a chamber. Nang silipin ko mula sa malaking salaming bintana ang ginagawa nila, nakapukaw ng aking atensyon ang kulay pula nilang logo sa uniporme nila. Mukha silang seryoso at walang pakialam sa mundo habang may inihahalong kemikal. The other personnels without that red logo looked terrified at them.

Mula sa di kalayuan, napansin ko ang iba pang mga ekspertong may kulay pulang logo sa labcoat.

Their aura didn't look approachable.

"Sino sila?"
