She still had a thing for Max, even with her boyfriend.

"Oh come on," Max said, winking. "Don't act like it's a bad thing to fall in love with me!"

"I LOVE THAT SONG!" Nate exclaimed, then proceeded to sing the chorus of Not a Bad Thing by Justin Timberlake.

Brooklyn then left us, but not before the excruciating detail of her new boyfriend.

Not long after we were all in fits of laughter, only to be cut off by the bell.

I tried to catch up with Max to ask him why he was distracted but he walked off, not noticing me.

Oh well, he was picking me up so I could ask him on the way to the restaurant.

And I was back to freaking out again.

I mean, I had a loose idea of what I was going to do but nothing that would make her snap. Nothing that was good enough to make her leave us alone for good.

Japanese was beyond boring but Mr Cole had to go somewhere to do something straight after school he let us out early.

Thankfully by the time I walked all the way to my locker and then to my car, Kye was already standing there, waiting for me so that we could go home.

We were nearly home when he asked, "What are you wearing tonight?"

I shrugged, although I was pretty sure Charlie was going to lend me a dress.

My only other option was a super short navy dress that reached the top of my thighs, just.

Actually, if I was wanting to displease my mother that would be perfect.

"A navy blue dress," I told him, before asking what shirt he was going to wear.

He and Max had talked to Dad about what was suitable for them to wear and they had both promised to look respectable and follow the dress code that Dad had set them.

In other words, they had to wear slacks, dress shoes, a shirt and a tie.

"A blue one."

I laughed at his simple response.

When we got home I went straight to my shed. Dinner was at seven and I figured it would take me an hour to get ready, meaning I still had two to play piano and relax.

At quarter to six Charlie came in to tell me to get ready.

"So are you and Adam dating now?" I asked and Charlie nodded, looking as nervous as we all felt.

"I'm just worried. I shouldn't have dragged him into this. I mean, he hasn't even met Dad or you or Kye yet, and this is the first time?" Charlie asked, messing her hair up with her hand.

I paused quickly to get my dress out of my room and then we continued to walk to Charlie's room which was upstairs.

"Charlie, I'm sure he doesn't mind. He will make it easier for you to be in the same room as her," I told her honestly.

She looked at me with suspicion. "Is that why you are bringing Max?"

I nodded and we closed the door to her room. "What are you wearing?" I asked.

She returned from her walk in wadrobe holding up two dresses. One was a maxi dress in black and the other was a shorter black dress that was fairly fitted.

"Depends if you want to piss of our mum or not," I told her and she smirked at me, dropping the maxi and putting the short one on the bed.

We spent the next hour doing each others make up and hair. I curled Charlie's hair and pinned the top half back loosely while she left mine wavy but pinned it back the same as hers.
