I call for pizza, and make sure to get enough for everyone.
"Rory, at your next doctors appointment, are you going to find out the gender? I hate to make it all about that, but it would make it easier to plan for the baby." Grandma says.
"I think I'd like to do a gender reveal party, but just amongst family. Having a small intimate gathering, maybe brunch, with you, Mom and Luke, Sookie, Dad, Paris, Honor, Logan, Mitchum and Shira, the boys and Lane. Just the main people in our lives." I say.
"That's a great idea. So who will cater that?" Grandma asks.
"Well, I haven't exactly told Logan that I want to do this. But I would want Sookie to cater it." I say.
"Okay well tell Logan, and I'll give Sookie a visit." Grandma says. "You have told her you're having a baby, right?"
"Well, not exactly. I told mom, who no doubt told Sookie." I say.
"Of course. Your mother and Sookie are as close as you and Lane." Grandma says.
"Yeah. So can you help plan it?" I ask.
"Of course. Anything for you and Logan. Your grandfather would have been so delighted to see you two end up together." Grandma says.
"Oh Grandma. I miss him." I say fighting back tears.

Bzz Bzz "Hello?" I say into my phone.
"Hey kiddo! How's it going?" Mom asks.
"Well, Honor and Grandma are here helping me decide what to order everyone for lunch and picking colours and such. Logan and the boys are upstairs putting together furniture." I say, skimming over a Chinese restaurant menu.
"My mother is there?" Mom asks.
"Well, yeah. I thought Grandma would enjoy this. She loves planning things, and it gives all of us something to do besides think about Grandpa." I say quietly.
"Alright. Well, I'm coming over too. Can Luke and April come too? She's here for the summer, and y'all haven't talked in a while, right?" Mom says.
"Uh yea, that's fine. Just text me your order for Chinese." I say and hang up.

"Who was that, Rory?" Honor asks.
"My mom. She, Luke, and Luke's daughter April are going to come over to help decorate and for lunch. I'm expecting their order for food soon." I say.
"Luke's daughter?" Grandma says.
"Yeah, April. She's with them for the summer." I say.
"Alright. Well, does she have good taste in designing things?" Grandma asks.
"Yeah, she actually does." I say, circling some things on the menu.

"Rory, can you take a look at the menu I'm going to send to the caterers for the baby shower lunch?" Honor asks.
"Of course." I say.

We talk and plan until the food arrives.

"Boys!  Logan! Food!"  I call up the stairs. We soon hear  movement and everyone comes downstairs.
Mom has all the food lined up on the dining room table, buffet style with paper plates, forks and chopsticks.

"Thanks Ace." Logan says walking over.
"Okay, well we've got Chinese food on that length of the table, pizza there, a salad there, donuts and pop tarts there, and sushi and Thai food there." I say. "Liquor is on the cart, sodas and coffee is on the buffet."
"Love, you've done it.  This looks amazing." Finn says, leading the way and piling his plate high. Everyone else follows Finn, and soon everyone was quiet eating.

"So how's the nursery coming along?" I ask the guys.
"Very well.  Everything is put together, we just need your input on layout." Logan says.
"Great. Grandma, Mom, Honor, if you want to keep working on everything else, I trust your judgment. I know anything the three of you plan will be perfect." I say.
"Oh Rory!  I'm so glad!  Okay, Emily, Lorelei, you know Rory best, you'll know all the details. I'll call some people." Honor says, hugging me and jumping into planning mode.

"Okay. Well, now that the party planning committee has started, show me what I need to do." I say and go upstairs with the boys.

"Okay, so I think that the crib should go here, and then when the baby is older, we can rearrange it for a regular bed." I say.  "Rocking chair there, changing table there, and I think we should add a small table there, either the size for a little kid, or an adult sized desk."
I continue to explain where I want things, and Logan, Finn, Colin, and Luke continue to move things around the room.
"I like it, but it feels like it's missing something." I say.
"A rug?  Some art?" Logan suggests.
"Yeah. I'll look online. Maybe there'll be something that sparks my interest there." I say.
