"Oh , now I understand why you were so angry. " Melissa giggled.

"I shot her a glare and folded my arms across my chest . "Why are you laughing? He was a complete jerk."

"Oh come on shorty!" Raquel sighed dreamily. " Why are you complaining? You weren't expecting him to forgive you in that moment and go all lovey dovey with you , we're you? Plus he's the popular and hottest guy in school now he can practically get any girl he wants now"

"He's not that gorgeous." I protested even though I even knew I was lying to myself.

Raquel and Melissa both gave me disbelieving looks.

"Are you blind? He looks like he could be on the front of Teen Vogue!" Raquel moaned.

I had to admit I was surprised that Raquel was having this reaction to Matthew, Raquel was never the one to fuss over guys , I mean never. Melissa and I had learned this after countless movie nights at each others houses , while Melissa and I were practically drooling over Channing Tatum , Chris Hemsworth or Taylor Lautner , Raquel was always commenting in how bad the camera angles were or how cheesy the actors lines sounded.

Matthew Lee Espinosa was one special guy if he got attention from Raquel - it made no sense though , she liked him for me but she always thought he was the most annoying person in the world and it's kind of surprising how all that changed so quickly. Wow have the years passed so fast.

Okay so maybe , Matthew was a cutie but that didn't make him less of a prick.

"God spent extra time on that boy" added Melissa.

"You got to be kidding me , what happened to all those "you're annoying " and this and that" I asked while chuckling.

I scoffed at the love struck expressions of my best friends.

"Whatever , can we please go to class? These toilets smell rank." I wrinkled my nose in disgust as another wave of nausea came over me. I could honestly say that Easton High toilets was the smelliest place in the United States, it smelt like pickles, sweat , and piss - I had no idea how the cleaners got paid, the girls toilets looked like they hadn't been cleaned since the Stone Age.

Raquel and Melissa both gagged in disgust as they finally realized how bad this place had smelt.

"Yeah, let's get out of here , before we die." Raquel grumbled.

"Hey Sav," Jack gritted me hesitantly. I had stayed behind to talk with my teacher and got late to class. To my luck the only seat available was next to Jack. There was nothing wrong with that but we weren't really on good terms right now.

I tried not to wince at the sound of his voice, it was quiet but it still held that sweet tone that he only used with me. "How are you?"

I feel like shit thank you , how are you? "I'm great." I chirped falsely.

Jack nodded and swallowed so hard that his Adam's apple bobbed. "Good. How was your summer?"

I finally plucked up the courage to look at him. It seemed totally unfair that Jack had gotten even more gorgeous over the summer. He had spiked his brown hair up with some nice smelling gel which showed off his prominent cheekbones that runaway models would surely be jealous of, and his skin was bronze from his holiday in Spain.

"My summer was good thanks, how was Spain?" I asked politely.

I could sense that half of the class was watching our tense exchanged instead of listening to the teacher, who was droning on about the book we would be studying this year. I hated the fact that the conversation seemed forced, we were both treading carefully at any second.
