She watched as they were messing around together, sighing to herself. She wished that she had someone to be with romantically. She had thought that maybe her and Peter could be a thing, but clearly that was over now. She had even considered that maybe her and Spiderman could start something, but he very quickly shut her down.

Of course Penny knew she was just a sophomore and she had her entire life ahead of her, but she couldn't help but feel saddened at the fact that she hadn't even had her first kiss, let alone a boyfriend.

She snapped herself out of her daze and went back to working on dinner. She collected all the vegetables that had been marinating, mixed them with the potatoes, and threw them in the oven.

When she looked at the clock it read 5:09. She washed her hands and then sat at the counter, watching her dad do the finishing touches on the chicken.

"Two questions for ya pops," Penny started, William sending her a look for what she called him, "Who is coming over? And when will they be here?"

"The who is a secret," William winked at his daughter, "And the when is at 5:30. So get changed into something nice. The pasta will be done in ten minutes."

Penny frowned at her dad, but hopped off the stool and made her way to her room. She picked out a pair of ripped jeans, and a nice tank top. She also put on her converse, for whatever reason. She supposed it made the look more complete.

Penny walked out of her room and went to Noah's. She knocked on the door and waited for him to say come in. When he did, she opened the door.

"Dad says the company will be here soon. Put on something nice," She said, eyes sweeping over his room, "And maybe put your dolls away." Penny teased, closing the door.

Noah shouted through the walls, "They're action figures!" Penny only laughed and shook her head before making her way out to the living room.

She went on her phone and waited until whoever it was arrived. Sara set the table, while William tied everything together. He put the chicken in the pasta, and the vegetables in a bowl.

The doorbell rang and Sara and William shared a knowing glance.

"Hey Pen, could you get the door?" Sara asked, bringing out the glasses.

Penny nodded her head and walked over to the door. She swung it open and stopped dead in her tracks. In front of her was none other than May and Peter Parker.

"Penny! So good to see you again!" May exclaimed, pulling her in for a hug. Penny slowly reciprocated, shock still very much written on her face.

May pulled away and entered, leaving Peter in the hallway. Penny's stare turned cold when she looked at him, and immediately walked away from him, a million thoughts racing across her mind.

She heard the adults chattering away in the kitchen as she sat down on the couch and put her head in her hands. She was not ready for this. She was not ready to see Peter so close after today, after last night, after the last two months.

Noah emerged from his room, and when his eyes landed on Peter he lit up.

"Peter! You're back!" He exclaimed, causing Peter to jump in his place. He was still standing in front of the door. "Come on, sit with me!" Noah flopped down on the couch next to Penny, Peter hesitantly sat down on a chair across from Penny.

"So where've you been? You promised that we would watch Star Wars together," Noah pouted, not sensing the obvious tension that was in the air.

"S-Sorry bud, I've just been uh, busy," Peter replied nervously.
