"It is, I know," He said sadly, "But... How have you been?"
"Ok, over the years. You?"
"Alright."
She quietly pulled up a cigarette packet and lighter, offering them to Edge, who accepted.
"You're the one who got me addicted, hope you know that," Silica grumbled.
"Looks like you kept to it," Edge commented, lighting the lung-killer between his teeth.
"Good for stress relieving," She added.
"Which is needed for this world."
~~~~~~
"Everything huuurrrttttssss. The world is oh so cold. I can see the light, tell my family and friends that I ate the last cookie in the fridge."
"You tripped over a pebble, you're next to a fire place, you're also an immortal being, and vampires can't eat normal human food. Stop complaining."
Two skeletons we're sitting next to a fire place, one of them lying on the floor while the other was sitting on the couch. One of them were completely covered in blankets from head to toe, while the other was propped up onto the couch, a book on their lap as they stared at it with bored eyes.
The one on the floor was Killer, a vampire. He was wearing a plain black t-shirt and white pants, black lines of goo running down from his eye sockets.
Black goo was often found in vampires with high vampire magic, such as Error, Nightmare, and Killer. Error had mended it into his bones to improve his physical fitness, which only a very old and expierenced vampire could do, which was why Nightmare hadn't done it yet. And Killer only had the black goo leaking from his eye sockets, since he had a problem with emptying it from his skull like the other two had done.
Either way, he could still see, so it wasn't a problem.
(Basically, a few select vampires built the black goo inside of their skulls instead of souls when first born if turned, and they cover their bodies in it to become more powerful, it's basically vampire magic melted. It's supposed to build inside of the soul, bit more powerful vampires built it inside and outside of their souls as well.)
"But Dust, it hurts! I think I broke a bone!" Killer said dramatically, throwing an arm over his skull.
Dust, the other vampire skeleton in the couch, didn't look up. He had on a grey hood with a plain blue hoodie, black sweatpants accompaning them. His right eye socket was blank of any pupils, his left having a red and blue pupil that swirled with the two colors.
"You can heal them faster than average monsters, I'm trying to read shut up," Dust said.
"We both know that you're pretending to read so Horror doesn't try to take you out to practice with his axes again."
"No, I just decided on taking up a new hobby, that's it," Dust said casually.
"You've been staring at the same page for the last ten minutes and the book is upside down."
Dust pulled back the book and glanced down at the cover, seeing that the book was indeed upside down.
"Thanks," He whispered, quickly flipping it over and turning the page.
"Why'd you think I'm being so dramatic?" Killer asked, "Don't want him to ask me either."
"No, Horror, I'm not practicing your axe aim with you!" A muffled voice could be heard from across the house.
"Please? It'll be really fun!" Another muffled voice talked to them.
"Looks like he's asking Fell now," Killer muttered, turning in his blanket cucoon towards the fire place.
"I don't want to Horror, I'm busy getting ready for the mission that Error assigned!"
"Oh, can I come? It sounds like fun!"
"Didn't you want to practice your axe skills today?"
"But this sounds way more fun!"
"I bet the chore of vacuuming the carpet that Horror has no idea what their even doing for the mission," Dust said.
"Sure," Killer said.
"But you don't even know what I'm doing!"
"Darn it," Killer muttered.
"Sweet," Dust said.
"I don't care, I'm really bored!"
"Well, we're going to the public library, we're going to be listening in on their conversations and seeing what their talking about."
"That means-"
"No, it doesn't mean you can charge in with your axe again, Horror,"
"Oh come on, no one around here is fun!"
"If you want, you can still come."
"Sure, it's better than sitting around here."
"Looks like I don't need this anymore," Dust said.
He tossed the book over his shoulder into the other room, hearing a thud and a "DUST YOU F*CKER!".
"I would like just one day of peace and quiet!" A females voice yelled from upstairs, pounding on the floor.
"Sucks to be her then," Killer muttered.
"Guess so," Dust said.
~~~~~~
"I can only stay out here for so long, we both still have jobs that have to be done," Silica said, lighting another cigarette.
"I know, but I think we have enough time to talk for a bit," Edge said.
They were both standing behind the library building, where a wild dog with eating the carcus of dead deer.
"Ok, so, you joined the Royal Guard?"
"Yeah, it was a second decision of mine, I was hoping that he had been thrown into the black market by the King or something," Edge explained, "He wasn't."
"Was she...?"
"She wasn't there either, I kept an eye out for her as well."
"At least you tried," She said, "I'll have to thank you for that, I guess."
"Well, now I'm stuck here with no escaping. I tried for a year trying to convince the King to allow me to form the party for the Vampire hunters, and I finally convinced him."
"So your going that deep into investigating, huh?"
"I... I feel like it was my fault still, even after all of these years."
"Like I said before, it ain't, and ya gatta just find him and give him a knuckle sandwich for leaving you like that."
"Heh, maybe. But what about you? Have you given up?"
"Well, she's strong, even if she is a bit shy and quiet. I'm sure she's alive somewhere, I've just been busy with... Something else."
"Is it a secret?" Edge asked, chuckling before exhaling a large breath of smoke.
"'Course," Silica chuckled.
《》《》《》
! Silica and Edge are not love interests !
! I repeat, they are NOT love interests !
Their old freinds, that's it, a friendship for people who needed someone to talk to in their pain and misery in the worst Kingdom. Nothing more. No romance, no kissing. They aren't even best friends, just old friends from years ago that happened to bump into each other.
Silica isn't my OC, keep in mind. I just imagine Silica and Edge needed someone to talk to in their younger years of life, and they happened to find each other and talk about their problems for a little while, then never met again until today.
I JUST SAW THAT PICTURE AND I JUST CAN'T *WHEEZE*
