Suddenly he climbs up the wall, somehow sticking to it despite wearing odd red gloves and black boots. His ability shocks me, my mouth hanging open while watching him ascend without me. Thankfully, once he had gotten to a certain height, he held a hand out for me.
"What? You can't carry me up there..." my fear returns, despite seeing his muscles.
To my dismay, he grabs my arm and pulls me up the vent. Crying out in fear, I feel my feet leave the bottom of the vent, realizing now that he is my only source of safety now. I begin to grip onto his arm like a cat being held above water as he carries me up many levels, both of us continue heading upward.
Eventually, we reach a dead end. Valtiel stops climbing, beginning to push against the ceiling as a ventilation door comes open. He then climbs out, pulling me out with him.
Looking around while hyperventilating, I quickly realize we had reached the roof of the hospital. Slowly I stand up, walking toward the edge. Looking over it, the sight of two police cars out in front of the hospital instill me with fear and stress.
Valtiel, while I had been distracted by the events out in front of the hospital, had made his way toward the back of it. Shifting my attention onto him, I slowly walk over to him, "what now...?"
'Get on my back.' He then turns around and moves the bag onto the front of his body, his back open to me now.
Fear immediately overwhelms me, causing me to take a step back, "please...don't make me do this...there has to be another way down..."
Valtiel kneels down, allowing me to get on easier before responding truthfully, 'There are no other alternative options for you.'
Remaining silent, panic quickly begins to overwhelm me, the drastic height of the building intimidating me to no end.
Valtiel then rises back onto his feet, instantly I grow fearful of him then leaving me upon the roof alone. This creature surprises me once again by turning around to face me, shifting the bag onto his back again. He then kneels down once again, opening his arms to me.
Staring in shock at him changing his options, I slowly walk toward him.
'I will not drop you. Trust in me.' His words speak into my mind, my arms wrap around his neck. He then stands, pulling me closer to his form, lifting up my legs so I can wrap them around his waist securely.
My head beside his, I grip onto him securely, instantly feeling much safer in this position. The scent of this creature hits me almost instantly, recognizing the various scents. He smells of Earth, forest, rust, and of course, the addictive, natural scent of a male.
My heart skips a beat while his scent is taken in, nearly making my instincts kick in. My focus is instantly broken once feeling both of us shift, making me cry out in terror. Valtiel had just climbed down off the edge of the roof and is now slowly climbing his way down the building. The realization causes me to grip onto him unlike anything I have ever gripped onto before, the break in my distraction caused all sense of safety to disappear.
Valtiel shifts oddly in discomfort, 'Hecate. I will not drop you. Loosen your grip...close your eyes; it will make it easier.'
Hesitantly I obey and loosen my death-grip on his body and bury my face into his neck, closing my eyes tightly.
"This is fucking terrifying!" I slightly scream out.
He continues making his way down, my lungs become filled with his scent once again, 'climbing can be a fearful experience, only if you believe it to be.'
His words snap me out of my trance again, my face heats up due to my inevitable, reoccurring thoughts, "...It's kind of hard to believe it isn't..."
Silence follows, Valtiel continues to climb down as the sound of multiple sirens wail in the distance. In a matter of time, Valtiel stops moving, hands are then felt on my shoulders.
Opening my eyes, I look down to realize we have finally reached the ground. Feeling relief overcome me, I climb off him, finally feeling my heart calm down.
Still trembling significantly from the whole event, my eyes lock onto him again, my voice accidentally expressing the amount of relief overcoming me, "...Thank you, Valtiel."
Noticing movement on the side of his head, my eyes focus on the faint lighting of the moon to realize a sliver on the side of his head appears to be smirking, my eyes widen.
"Woah...wait, is that your mouth?"
'Indeed, it is.'
Standing there in shock, his grin grows wider until it suddenly disappears. He then walks away from me, making me follow.
"I'm guessing you are also going to help me get back." I assume.
He nods and approaches a nearby parked car. placing his hand on the driver door, a click is heard.
He then moves his hand down to the handle and opens the car then faces me, waiting for me to get in.
"What...? That isn't my car...I can't take that."
'Yes you can, and you will. Now get in.'
Sighing in defeat, I approach the car as he tosses the bag into the back and climbs into the car's passenger side swiftly.
Getting in the driver's seat, I close the door and put my seatbelt on as my eyes lock on Valtiel, who looks to be mimicking my actions as he grabs his seatbelt and copies me by putting it on, I smile.
His actions amuse me, "Learning aren't we?"
'Yes, the human ways are interesting, and often spark my ever-growing curiosity.'
I giggle as my attention shifts to the car, realizing there aren't any keys.
"Well, seems like we can't take the car-"
Before I could even finish, his hand had moved to the ignition as the car then roars to life.
"...How do you do that..."
'The answer is too complicated for a simple human to understand. Asking is simply a waste of breath.'
"Too late...I already asked."
'It comes naturally...' he responds, clearly not wanting to go into detail.
"Alright, I guess..." I then shift the car into drive as we leave the parking lot, avoiding the police entering the hospital.
