"Good morning gentlemen." Her silky voice spoke.

"Mornin' Ms. Foster." Slim smiled, turning to face her from his spot on the couch. "How'd you sleep?"

"Better than I have in a while actually." She smiled brighter. "You boys are up mighty early." Her eyes venturing to me.

"A mans work is never done." I spoke, shrugging lightly.

"I see." She nodded, her eyes never leaving mine before she cleared her throat, looking down. "Speaking of work, I was wondering if you would be kind enough to lend me your WiFi password?" Her beautiful eyes where back on me. "I need to get some work done myself."

"On a Saturday?" Slim's voice asked, her eyes turning to him.

"A lawyers work is never done." She winked, causing him to chuckle.

I picked up my pen and scribbled the WiFi password on a strip of paper, holding it out for her. I smiled as she stepped closer, taking it from my fingers.

"Thank you." She smiled.

"You need my space for awhile?" I asked, standing from my desk. Slim followed my lead and stood from the couch.

"Oh, no no." She shook her head as she smiled. "I'll just use the living room over there if that's okay? You've got your own things to handle, I'll be fine in there."

"You can use anything you want in here." I smiled at her.

"Except the basement." Slim shot out, causing her to look at him, her smile faltering a bit.

"Uh yeah. I forgot to tell you about that last night." I cleared my throat, giving Slim a death glare before looking back into her eyes. "Don't step foot in my basement."

"Um," She cleared her throat and took a few steps back. "Okay." She put on a fake smile before excusing herself and walking across the hall out of my sight.

"Really bruh?" I whispered harshly as I turned toward Slim.

"What man?" He chuckled. "We don't even allow Ashleigh in the basement and she been down since the beginning."

"I know but," I turned my head towards the living room making sure she wasn't around before looking back at him. "she's a lawyer Slim. Even though she knows what we do professionally, some things need to be kept quiet."

"Understood my man." He sighed.

We walked out of my office and turned to head to the kitchen. I let my eyes glance into the living room on the way past. I paused to look at the woman who was pacing back in forth in my living room on her cell phone. Her lap top was sitting on the table near the front windows, I could see it was up and loaded with something on the screen. She had paperwork sitting out around it, and she talked animatedly with whomever was on the other line. I couldn't stop the smile that spread on my face.

"Yeah bruh."

I turned my head to look at Slim who stood there with a huge grin on his face looking at me.

"What?" I asked.

"Your doomed bruh." Slim's eyes traveled into the living room, mine following as we both watched her. "Home girl got you sprung and she ain't even trying. And the sad thing is, she doesn't even realize she's yours yet."

I let a smile graze my lips as Slim's words washed over me. He was right. I was so gone over Tessa already and I don't believe she honestly knew. Even though I hadn't made a move, I felt in my heart she was mine. Even my men could sense it. And when I set my eyes on something, I didn't stop until it was truly mine. I had been alone for so long, just the random hook-ups with girls who I would never give a chance to get to know me. Tessa was different. She'd seen and been through more than any of the lame ass hoes that always wanted my attention. She was classy, elegant, sexy, smooth, and confident. Yet she was rugged, cold, hard and a total bad ass in one. She knew who she was and what she wanted out of life, and that turned me on more than anything. The fact that I knew she had her own career and made her own way, and wouldn't rely on my income was even better. Not that I wouldn't give my lady everything on the planet anyways. I just knew Tessa wouldn't be the one to just let a man rule her.

I cleared my throat as her eyes turned to us in the door way, a smile playing on her lips as she moved the phone from her mouth slightly.

"Yes?" She asked.

"You hungry?" I asked. "Coffee?"

"I'd love some coffee, please?" She kept her eyes on mine.

"Coming right up." I winked, smiling as I saw the tint of red in her cheeks as I turned following Slim to the kitchen.

"So, whats the move?" I heard him ask as I made my way towards the coffee pot. "You know she wont want to stay here forever, knowing the activity that goes on here."

"Yeah." I sighed, hitting the button to start the coffee as I turned back to him. "She's going to want to head back to her loft as soon as the door is fixed. I don't want her in that place dog. Knowing anything can happen at anytime and I'm more than 15 minutes away."

"I mean, we can put in a call and have it raided." Slim shrugged. "You think that might scare her into staying a bit longer?"

"She don't scare easily." I crossed my arms across my stomach. "If she found out we did this, she'd never want to see me again."

"Who said she'd find out? You know we got you Kels. And I know you want her, more than just to rearrange your bed sheets." I chuckled as I looked at my friend. "And truth is, you need her dog. I can see that."

"Call Baze and have him and the boys run a hit through the building. Make it look like JOS aight? Be sure to let Ash know so he don't freak out. I'll call Pops and discuss my plan with him." I replied.

"You gon tell him you tryna make her yours?" Slim asked, smiling as he pulled a jacket on.

"I'm sure he already knows that. Plus the fact she is a lawyer could help EST out more than we realize you know?" I took a deep breath. "I'm not using her for her status ya know?"

"Never that. Your just protecting what you feel is yours." Slim walked over giving me a hug before stepping back. "I'm on it fam. I'll keep you posted."

With that he walked out the patio doors and out of sight. I knew I was playing a dangerous game here. If Tessa ever found out she would never trust me. But I had to keep her close to me and make sure she was safe. Nothing would stop me from making her see we needed to be together.
