I shot them glares. "First of all, we were never married. It was supposed to be an arranged marriage, it never happened" I said.

"And it never will?" Imaan asked, with an arched brow.

I rested on my seat and folded my hands, without answering that.

"There's a meeting with the CEO in thirty minutes. He'd like to address us about some matters" Rahma said. As she poked her head into my office, slightly opening door.

"Alright, noted" I said to her, my attention fully focused on the work I was trying to finish.

The CEO was my dad's friend. I hadn't gotten an opportunity to meet him since I began working there because apparently, he had been away. Therefore, this was a big deal. I had to introduce myself properly to him and probably thank him, right?

I sighed, Deciding not to worry about it.

It'll be fine.

Time passed by quickly and it was soon time for the meeting. It was a dull day, plus I had a lot to achieve before the end of the day, so I hoped the meeting was going to be a quick one.
We had multiple meetings before this, one of which was the one were I had addressed my staff and got to know them.
I hadn't really contributed in the other ones as I was new there, so I focused on observing instead.

The hall was large. It took up an entire floor.
I took a seat where my secretary had shown me to as we awaited the arrival of the Chief Executive Officer.

Soon enough, he walked in, causing the room to fall completely silent. All the murmuring had now seized.

Scanning the crowd, his eyes met mine before he began speaking.
He was probably in his sixties but he looked really good. He stood tall, his fine grey hair styled to perfection, complimenting his grey beards.

He spoke well, intelligently and made his points effortlessly. I was impressed especially because I wasn't expecting this.

He paused for a while, after addressing multiple issues before informing us that he'd be resigning from the position of CEO.
He wanted to focus on the UK branch so he was going to hand it over to someone else, his son.
Everyone began to murmur, Rahma glanced at me.

"We all definitely did not see this coming" she said to me.

"Well it seems like he's mostly away. I think it's only right he hands it over to someone that can be a bit more available" I stated, and she nodded in agreement.

"Ladies and gentlemen, meet your new CEO" He said, looking towards the door.

Clapping erupted and the large doors burst open.
My phone escaped my hands and I groaned, bending to pick it up.
Typical clumsy Elham.

I heard the murmuring increase and wondered why. Curious to see the new CEO, I picked up my phone swiftly and stretched back up, taking my seat.

And suddenly, it felt like déjavu. This had happened before, but this time felt different.
Cold grey eyes bore into mine. The room was filled with many people, but it felt as though, it was just the two of us.
Rahma glanced at me, and then Asaad, clearly wondering what was going on.
