The lights flickered before leaving the entire cart in darkness, most of the others started shrieking as if they had just seen the biggest spider. I didn't understand what the big deal was until I felt nails piercing my arm, I looked back at Carrie May. Her face was as white as snow and her eyes seemed glued to something outside the window. I tried to look at what was attracting her attention and even years afterwards I wished I hadn't, with the lights off I could see something glowing outside. It was a glowing smile, it looked as if it was painted by a toddler. The glowing smiles were everywhere but that wasn't the disturbing part. The smiles were painted onto something, something that seemed hard and rotting. The smiles were painted across the faces of dead corpses, the corpses were pinned to the walls of the tunnel as if they were a horrid Halloween decoration. Some of the bodies were just skeletons and some looked soo fresh that you could still hear their heart beat, Suddenly a voice from before said calmly "the none smilers."
I turned to see that kori was the one who had said it, a few other people looked at him confused. He looked around at everyone and pointed outside of the cart where on the wall written in the same glowing paint as the smiles was written 'THE NONE SMILERS'.
Suddenly a speaker crackled to life: "CHILDREN! TEENAGERS! OUR WORLD IS UNSAFE FOR YOU! SO WE -THE COUNCIL OF JULIARK- HAVE DECIDED TO SEND YOU TO WHERE IT IS SAFE! AS YOU HAVE NOTICED ALL YOUR JACKETS ARE DIFFERENT COLOURS! THIS IS BECAUSE OF YOUR BLOOD!" The speaker spoke in a strict voice, everyone looked at their jackets once more. "IF YOU HAVE A BLUE JACKET YOU ARE A BLUE BLOOD! IT IS YOUR JOB TO BE THE PEACEKEEPERS AND COUCIL MEMBERS! IF YOU HAVE A RED JACKET YOU ARE A SCARLET BLOOD! YOU SHALL BE GUARDS! IF YOU HAVE A GREEN JACKET YOU ARE A GREEN BLOOD! YOU WILL BE THE ONES TO SUPPLY FOOD! IF YOU ARE WEARING A ORANGE JACKET YOU ARE A ORANGE BLOOD! YOU WILL BE THE SUPPORTERS! THANK YOU THAT WILL BE ALL!" The voice announced before crackling away once more.
The train suddenly came to a stop, everything went pitch black before all the lights turn on. I look out the window to see a beautiful city, but where the sun should be is just water. The city is underwater.
