I closed my eyes with scrunched up eyebrows, accepting my fate with sadness filling me. 'I'd even spend more time with Kai if I had the chance. And get over my fear of fire. But here I am, falling to my death. Tick tock, tick tock...' Time was passing and I couldn't stop it. It only left me to philosophise about it. Time passing and just slipping past me was just another fear of mine. 'Why am I always this afraid of stupid things like that?'
Suddenly, I felt my entire body warm up as if there was a warm light glowing deep inside of me.
'Fear can go fuck off. I'm not afraid anymore!'
I opened my eyes and saw there was actually a bright, white light with a red tint emitting from me. It only took a second and suddenly, a dragon appeared right under me and let out an earthquaking growl that could probably be heard all over the island.
'Is this...my elemental dragon?' I felt the rough, dark red scales against my fingertips as well as the strong cargoes surrounding each individual scale. 'This...is one giant magnet! And a dragon as well, of course.'
I grabbed the metal reigns and tried my best to steer it down. It had caught me just before I hit the trees so there wasn't really a long way to go. I looked at the head of my new friend that had silver horns on it. Overall, my dragon could be described in four words: dark red, black, silver and magnetic. Just like everything that seemed to have ties to my element... I jumped off and fell for a short bit before rolling over to soften the fall. The dragon just decided to disappear into thin air.
'What to do now?'-------------------------------------------
I was surrounding by thick trees, exotic plants growing in every nook and crany and vines wrapping around everything they could get their hands on. The air was slightly more humid than usual and it made my clothes cling to my body. There didn't seem to be any other contestants near which made me breathe a sigh of relief. I wasn't gonna go looking for Nya, of course. A better idea would be to look for a hiding spot since I knew Chen's people were gonna come after me.
Suddenly, a speaker next to my landing spot started blasting some music along with Chen's voice.
''Dear contestants, I've left you some weapons lying around that will aid you in your search. I hope you make good use of them.'' Chen giggled at the end of the statement and continued talking to Clouse with the speakers still on.
I started walking slowly so I wouldn't get tired too easily. I passed multiple weapons laying on the ground like katanas, throwing knives, daggers and even a big mech that looked pretty sick to be honest. But, of course, I didn't take any of them because they were equipped with trackers. So, I just walked around with no clear path in mind.
'Maybe I should try to find my way back to Chen's palace. Maybe I could save the others.'
Since there wasn't anything better to do, I just went with it. But good luck trying to find your way through a jungle as thicc as this. There weren't any encounters with Chen's soldiers, thank god.
It took what seemed like an eternity but was probably about half an hour until I found an arena that looked very familiar. It was the one Jay and Cole had fought in, the one that was deep in the jungle as well. From then on, all I had to do was follow the path to find my way back.
I was currently hiding behind a bunch of bushes and scanning the heavily guarded gate. It didn't take long to tell that there was no way I was getting in, even with Shadow Step. I thought of different ways to get in there without going through the gate for a few minutes. Luckily, my answer just came walking out of the jungle. It was Kai, accompanied by Skylor and Chen.
