Forever Friend (Link x Reader)

Chapter 2 - Unknown Hero

Link was within an arm's length from her when he reached into his pouch and pulled out an apple. Blaze saw the apple and perked his ears forward.  Then he slowly started walking up to Link as he licked his teeth.  Misty's eyes were nervously darting back and forth between Link and Blaze. It was as if she was trying to figure out what to do. Then Blaze stopped right by Link and nudged Link's hand that had the apple in it. Link smiled over at him then held out the apple.

Blaze took the apple in his teeth and held it as he stepped in front of Misty. He stretched out his neck as he offered her the fruit. She nickered at him then looked back at Link. Blaze nickered back then pushed the apple closer to her mouth. She turned back to him and paused. Then she slowly raised her nose to the apple and took a bite. Then the two of them happily chewed on the apple.

Link smiled then smoothly walked up and rubbed her on the neck.  Her skin quivered under his fingers as he stroked her neck.  She glanced at Link and did a low grumble as her body tumbled.  He smiled back at her then rubbed her forehead with one hand and her neck with the other.  Slowly she calmed down under his hand.

"Good girl."  Link told her once she was calm again. 

"You did a great job protecting her.  Now let me help you both."  He said as he pulled two more apples out of his pouch. 

Both horses nickered at him.  He smiled as he chuckled at them. 

"OK.  OK.  Here you go."  He said then held out an apple to each of them, to which they both happily took and started eating them.

Then with one last rub of Misty's neck he ran his hand down her right side as he walked by her as he moved over to you. Your body was stretched out across the ground with your right arm stretched out above your head and the rest laying halfway in the dirty water. Your face was laying down in the mud and your (h/c) hair was now covered in dirt as it laid across your face and down onto the ground. Without moving you, Link looked over your body to see if he saw anything broken or out of place.  That was when he noticed that your right shoulder didn't look quite right. It looked like the trip up there might have dislocated it.

Then Link noticed your left side. Your clothes were torn and showed sights that they had been covered in blood before the mud got caked on it.  Link heart dropped as he looked at you.  That foot-soldier had done a number on you. If he hadn't seen you earlier, he never would have recognized you now.  In fact he would have been surprised to see that you were even a woman, what with mud that now was caked all over you. 

Link sighed, guess this would be his thank you to you for helping him get a great horse. He felt that it was the least that he could do. Besides, he had hoped to see you again. He would have preferred better circumstances. But he had already learn as this journey began, to appreciate what he got. Besides, it's not like he had had a lot of people that he had interacted with since he woke up.  And certainly not anyone that he was this intrigued by.  

He then knelt down beside you and gingerly rolled you over and onto your back.  He didn't see any other injuries, which was as relief.  So he carefully sat you up  by wrapped his arm under your right dislocated shoulder and around your back.  Then he slid his other arm under your legs.  This had your laceration away from his body and not hanging down for it to be traumatized more.  

Then Link carefully stood up as he held you in his arms.  Once he was on his feet again he slightly adjusted you as he pulled you in closer so that he had a strong hold on you.  Then he turned back to Misty and Blaze as they both silently stood there watching the two of you.  They both had their heads raised and their ears forward as they looked at him.

"Come on.  Let's head to Impa's house.  She should have the supplies that I need for you two."  Link said to Misty. 

Misty gave him a startled look, as if she was surprised that she understood him. Blaze nickered at her then started following Link as he started walking towards the village entrance.  Misty did a quick glance as Blaze as he started to follow before she put her head down and slowly started to do the same. Her muscles twitched as every movement of her left hind leg was painful.  She whinnied ever so often as she slowly walked towards the village.
