When the initial excitement died down you realized how tired you really were. You had fun today but there was a lot of work to be done tomorrow and you had to be at the train station in the morning. "I think I'm going to hit the hay. I'm exhausted." You said with a yawn. "You get your rest sweety, you have a big day ahead of you." Lydia said gently, placing a hand on your shoulder. "Yeah, we should tuck in for the night." Rodney agreed, taking your hand and getting up from his spot on the couch. You followed his example and stood up. "Goodnight Mr. and Mrs. Copperbottom. Thank you for everything!" You said. "Of course! Goodnight!" They said as Rodney led you back to his room. You hastily changed into your pajamas, not caring that Rodney was watching you intently, and snuggled into his bed, giggling when he climbed in beside you after turning out the lights. He wrapped his arms around you and whispered sweet nothings into your ear until you fell asleep.

~~~~~~~~
     You awoke to the sound of birds chirping outside the window as the sunlight streamed in through the curtains, casting a warm, golden glow about the room. Rodney was still sleeping, his arm draped over you and his hand resting on your chest. You took this time to admire the sunlight glinting on his lithe frame, his face peaceful and content. You loved waking up next to him like this, feeling him beside you, knowing that he loved you and you alone. It was enough to make any girl swoon. An imagined future began playing out before your eyes, one where you were married, woke up beside him every morning, maybe even started a family, grew old together... 'Yes, that would be nice.'  You thought to yourself. You felt more content here than you had ever felt back in your own world.
     His eyes slowly fluttered open and he smiled when he saw you. "Good morning, beautiful." He said, his voice somewhat groggy. You smiled back at him. "Good morning, handsome." You answered, placing a light kiss on the tip of his nose. He chuckled at the gesture and pulled you closer, nuzzling his face into your chest. Now it was your turn to giggle. "What are you doing?" You asked him, gently stroking his arm. "Nothing. You're just so warm and soft.." He said, bringing his face up to kiss you softly. You kissed him back, smiling the whole time. "I wish we could stay like this forever." He mumbled once he had pulled away. "Me too. But we have to be at the station in an hour. We need to get up." You said, giggling as he grumbled. "Come on, lets go!" You teased, making a move like you were going to get out of bed.
     He grabbed your arm and pulled you back so that you were laying on top of him, your faces inches apart. He grinned mischievously and you slapped his hand away playfully when he tried to grab your hips. Leaning down, you gave him a long, slow kiss. "There, happy now?" You asked with a smirk as you pulled away, still keeping your face close to his. "For now.." He teased. You laughed as you got out of bed, pulling him up with you. "As much as I would like to stay in bed with you all day we have places to go and things to do." You said, giggling as you dressed yourself. You packed the rest of your belongings, which didn't take long, and turned to see him leaning against his desk, smiling lovingly at you. "What?" You asked. "Nothing.." He said casually, before moving closer and kissing your neck. You smiled and blushed at the contact. "You're such a dork, Rodney Copperbottom." You said playfully as the two of you left the room and made your way to the dining room, where Rodney's parents were already awake and making breakfast.
     You dropped your suitcase beside your place at the table, greeting Herb and Lydia with a cheerful "Good morning!" "Good morning, (y/n)! Did you sleep well?" Mrs. Copperbottom asked, coming out of the kitchen carrying a stack of clean plates. "Like a baby." You replied, taking the plates from her and helping set the table for breakfast. "Really you don't have to." Lydia said, gesturing at the table. "It's the least I can do. I want to help." You said with a reassuring smile. She seemed to relax and smiled at you in thanks. "You're a very sweet girl, (y/n). I hope that Rodney knows what a treasure you are." She said, shooting a meaningful glance at her son. "Oh, believe me, I do." He replied with a smile in your direction. You couldn't explain why but his answer made you feel giddy. Maybe it was the image of wedding vows that came to your head when he said 'I do' or the way his voice became so unmistakably sincere. Whatever the reason, you couldn't help but feel excited.
     Breakfast wasn't much but it was made with love and that was what mattered to you. There was scrambled eggs and toast with strawberry jam for you and mugs of hot oil for everyone else. Rodney poured the oil down his back with a contented sigh and you watched him, fascinated with how much different life was for him than it was for you. You wondered what it would be like if you were a robot like him. You would certainly miss eating real food, that's for sure. When everyone had finished and the table was cleared, you picked up your suitcase and followed Rodney and his parents out to the car, placing it in the trunk with ease. You climbed in the backseat with Rodney as Herb and Lydia sat up front. The engine revved to life and soon you were off down the road. It didn't take very long to get to the train station and soon you found that the car had stopped and everyone was already getting out. Rodney opened your door for  you and helped you out, grabbing your suitcase from the trunk as well.
     You all walked into the station to see Bigweld and the rest already gathered there. You waved and they all greeted you happily. Bigweld had already purchased the tickets and the train was going to leave soon. You said goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Copperbottom, which was more emotional than you had thought it would be. You had really grown fond of them over the short time you had spent together and you knew they were just as fond of you. Rodney hugged his parents and promised to visit them again as soon as possible. Bigweld approached your little group, bidding the Copperbottoms farewell, and led you and Rodney into the train. As soon as everyone was safely aboard and all the luggage tucked neatly away, the train gave a little jolt and a hiss and pulled out of the station. You could see Mr. and Mrs. Copperbottom still standing on the platform and waving even as the train lifted itself into the sky, chugging higher and higher until they looked like little specks in a tiny toy town.
     You pulled yourself away from the window and looked at Rodney. It was difficult to read the expression on his face. It looked like sadness mixed with excitement and hope. He turned to you and a gleam was in his bright blue eyes. "This is it. This is the start of everything I've ever hoped for." He said, taking your hand in his and caressing it gently. You smiled at him and gave his hand a squeeze. "Are you ready for it?" You asked softly. "I think so. As long as you're with me I feel like I can do anything." He replied, lifting your hand to his lips. You smiled, a pure and true happiness coursing through your body and filling your entire being. You knew this would be the start of something wonderful and you couldn't wait to see where it would take you.
