We all had questions.
"How do we know which one is the ruby?" Oliver asked.
"It glows." Will replied.
"I'm the one who's gonna have to grab it, aren't I?"
"Yes, Leo. You're the one who has to grab the 3000 degree ruby." She seemed done with our shit. I didn't blame her, honestly. It was early morning, and we were all tired. I didn't have a lot of questions, this whole thing was pretty straightforward to me. It didn't even occur to me that we were heading to such a dangerous place. I had no idea.
The next thirty-six hours were boring as fuck. We made it all the way to Nebraska before we had to call it quits and stop in a hotel. Which, I didn't mind. Sleeping in a car was horrible for my back. Will paid for us to be all in one room, which had two beds and a couch, a balcony and the rest of things that a hotel had. It was slightly warmer there than it was in new York, but not by much.
I sat down on the porch balcony with my coca cola, and poured a bit onto the ground. I decided that now was the time to explain to my brother what was going on, it had already been almost a month of nothing, and I was sure he was confused.
His face appeared, and the poor lad looked confused as all hell. His blue eyes were wide with shock, and he sat down in front of me.
"Hey Anthony.." I waved sheepishly. He sat there still.
"Luna.. How? What is this? What are you wearing?" He continued to ask me questions, and apparently wasn't used to me wesring orange. I cut him off.
"That's why I called you. I wanted to explain everything."
The next half hour was the most awkward of my life. When I was done explaining that I was a demigod, on a quest, and that I had abilities, my brother was left speechless.
"So..." Anthony sighed. "So you're not my real sister?"
"Well.. We're still related, it's just... We have different dads?" He took a sharp inhale.
"So you killed an innocent person, who happened to be my father-"
"He wasn't innocent." I was pretty quick to make that clear, my voice dropped an octave and I glared. He seemed to back down, but still looked pissed.
"Give me one good reason that I shouldn't call the cops right now."
I had to think for a minute. I grinned.
"Give me one good reason why they should believe you."
He stayed quiet. I hung up, buried my face in my hands, and groaned. More and more I was beginning to realize that I enjoyed the act of poisoning Allen. I felt in control of my life, I felt powerful. I felt like I did regain what I had lost to him.
"Now isn't the time to say it, but your family is full of assholes." I heard Leo's voice behind me. I nodded, and sat down in a chair, watching him sit next to me.
"They are..." I ran my fingers through my hair and took my glasses off, rubbing my eyes. "But what demigod doesn't have family issues, right?"
We had a laugh.
"That was really savage though, Luna. You're right. Why would the cops believe him? We're covered by the mist. Our world is invisible to theirs."
I nodded, my eyes fixated on the clear countryside before me.
"Besides, you're kind of terrifying."
That caused me to look over. I tilted my head. "I'm terrifying?"
"Shockingly, yea. You should have seen the way you handled Allen back in the underworld. Or when you and Oliver got into that fight and you were ranting. You should give yourself more credit. I should start calling you dynamite."
"Of course you had to give me a nickname out of it..." I grinned.
"Only for you, sleeping beauty~"
Ah shit, here we go again. I could feel myself turn red. It happened every time he called me that (or Lulu.) I cleared my throat. "R-right- uhm.. Speaking of sleep, we should get some."
Without missing a beat: "I already got some! I have you, and that's all I really need." Leo grinned, I could see out of my peripheral vision that he was staring at me. I only became more of a blushing mess. I rubbed the back of my neck.
"заставить замолчать..!" I managed to squeak out, which only made the situation worse.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
==> Be Leo
You had never seen a sight quite like Luna getting flustered before.
(Okay, it was a lie. You had.)
You couldn't exactly help it though! She was too cute when she was flustered. Her bangs would fall further into her eyes, she'd fumble around with her glasses, turn red, look down and mumble something in Russian... It was just a reminder that she was more than just a terrifying Hypnos girl. You remember the day Oliver was describing Luna's appearance to you. He said she was gorgeous, which was a total understatment. Luna was a knockout. An enigma. Her eyes were red in certain lighting, which made her look scary sometimes. Her hair was a bright shade of copper, and there was a lot of it in such a short length that it kind of puffs out. She was pale, and still had some freckles dotting her face. Sometimes she did this thing when she was listening to music where her brow would furrow and her eyes would flicker around, staring at all the small things as she mouthed the words. Sometimes she would reach for a hairtie that isn't there and slump over in defeat; other times she tried to push up her glasses that weren't on her face, and when she didn't have her glasses on and she needed to see, her lip would curl when she squinted.
Maybe you were a bit over observant of your friend. You found yourself going on autopilot and flirting with her more than you liked to admit, and while the first few times were just friendly, you now thought that maybe you had a small crush on her.
Actually scratch that. You were falling for her. Hard.
She understood the whole bottling up your feelings thing, and you felt comfortable enough around her that you could admit your struggles- which you did a few times. Sometimes she helped you through her intrusive thoughts, and vice versa.
A part of you at that moment just wanted to lean in and crash your lips to hers, but it wasn't the right time. Not yet, at least.
"Leo?" Her voice snapped you out of your thoughts. You realized all of the sudden that you were pretty much staring at her. "You... You okay?"
You cleared your throat. "Yea- just peachy!"
Nice one, Super Sized McShizzle. Totally smooth.Silence falls between you two.
"Uhm.." Luna makes a noise, like she's trying to work up the courage to do something. You look over.
"..?"
You proceeded to get thrown back in your chair as Luna wrapped her arms around you, engulfing you in a hug and burying her face in the crook of your neck.
Her hair was soft... She felt cold, which was refreshing for you since you were always on the warmer side. She smelled like coffee, and lavender vanilla; it made you want to fall asleep right then and there. Your arms snake around her waist, and you pull her closer.
You two sat there for a long, long time, before she pulled away and cleared her thoat.
"S-sorry-" she coughed. "I just- uhm.. Wanted to thank you. for- for what you did in the underworld.." She trailed off, looking away and pushing up her glasses. She fiddled with her choker. Would now be a good time? Goodness no, she can barely handle herself as is, you were in the same state. You laughed it off.
"Yea, n-no problem, it was nothing-" you try to play it cool. You couldn't play it cool. You were the opposite of cool, you were hot. (Hot damn.)
"It was everything though, Leo."
You state down at her, and for a split second, you thought that you had a chance with the daughter of sleep.
заставить замолчать = shut up!
